Kendall Holt vs Ben Tackie Result. Tackie is no easy cookie win lose or draw but he did what he usually does when faced against a contender, went rounds and made some $$$ in a losing effort. For 10 rounds Holt moved and countered with single placement shots all night against the slow-footed African brick on his way to a 10 round UD. EinsteinPicks has a GUARANTEED winning bet on the Kelly Pavlik vs Jermain Taylor bout on Pay-per-view. BetUS.com had Kendall Holt as a -1100 boxing betting favorite . Tackie is always a decent take a flier bet with his durability and punch but he has lost more often of late. The fight started with both men displaying respect as each kept their distance and looked for single juiced up punches. Tackie is always dangerous as a right hand puncher, and Holt never has taken a good shot to the chops, so there was a little suspense. Holt began cranking in the occasional hooks off counterpunches in the 2nd round as Tackie used his usual bullish style of fighting to eat Holts occasional punches. This fight really didnt have much action offensively with Tackie averaging 39.3 punches per round to Holts 35.7 punches Per. Rd. The output was far lower than the 140 Lb. Jr. Welterweight average of around 50 punches per round. BetUS.com had theOVERUNDER at 9.5 rounds with the OVER at -500 . The fight was pretty much what it was from start to finish. Holt moving and occasionally letting go of his jarring combinations off Tackie hittable face round after round. Holt is a nice boxer. On a 1-10 scale Holt is 7.5. He has the tools to be very good, but the questionable durability that makes him an unstable bet. As for Tackie he still can make money because he is durable and has good technique still. Watch out for a possible Kendall Holt vs Paulie Malignaggi bout in the future at some point. Brad Marchetti has connections in the boxing world. Ride the EinsteinPicks boxing money train that pays out in cold hard cash. Marchetti has a huge GUARANTEED winning play on the HBO telivised Paul Williams vs Carlos Quintana bout that is a GUARANTEED winning boxing bet . What I'm going to do here is something I did for years when I was an editorial consultant for USA Network's "Tuesday Night Fights," which is to break down this matchup along statistical lines. It also offers something of a capsule if you don't wish to go line-by-line on each one of the records of these fighters. When it comes to betting the propositions at BetUS Sportsbook , this is the kind of information that may be of some use to you.
BetUS boxing betting odds

- FLOYD MAYWEATHER -240
- RICKY HATTON +190

Golden Boy Promotions along with Mayweather Promotions brings us "Undefeated". "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather Jr. (38-0, 24 KO's) verses "The Hitman" Ricky Hatton (43-0, 31 KO's) live from the MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 8, 2007. This bout will be for Mayweather's WBC Welterweight Title and so much more. Opening Betting Line on Bodog : Mayweather Jr. - 225 Hatton + 185 In my opinion, this will be the best "Welterweight" fight since the 1999 brawl between Oscar De La Hoya and Felix Trinidad. This bout will live up to the hype as it brings us two unbeaten fighters, that will decide who is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world... Two fighters who can fluctuate in weight class as much as Oprah, and not unlike Oprah, they have seen great success on all levels... This will be the Fight of 2007, an instant classic for the ages! If you look up the Orthodox boxing style in a dictionary, you should see a picture and a description of these two fighters... Both fighters have been ranked in the top ten in "The Ring" magazine's best pound-per-pound fighter in the world list. Floyd was ranked number one in the world in their July 18th, 2005 issue. While Ricky was just named eighth in the world in their November 2007 issue. It seems like forever since we seen Floyd's last bout against Oscar De La Hoya in May of this year, where Mayweather won his split decision over the Golden Boy. Mayweather Jr. had said that the De La Hoya bout would be his last as he was contemplating retirement. However, just three months later he agreed to fight Hatton. Many said that he couldn't pass up the money and a win over Hatton would cement him as the best pound-for-pound fighter of this modern era. As the opening betting lines show us, Mayweather will be a heavy favorite with the public. If this fight was in England, I wouldn't be so sure of that. The British public loves Hatton, and many will make the trip to Vegas to support their fighter. I look for a 65-35% crowd towards Mayweather in this one. Vargas, a former IBF/WBA light middleweight champion has lost three of his last seven bouts including his last, both TKO losses (10th round TKO on February 2006, and 6th round TKO on July 2006) to Shane Mosley. Fernando looked great in his first bout with Mosley in February 2006, but he looked and fought poor in the 2nd fight, later blaming it on the struggles of making the 154 lb limit. Vargas had a "fast-track" impressive career, winning his first 20 fights (17 by knockout). Winning the IBF light middleweight title, then he caught a beating in the 12th round by Felix Trinidad on December 2nd, 2000. In my opinion, he was rushed too quickly into the fight. Vargas was knocked down four times in the bout and suffered a horrendous defeat to Trinidad, however he did put Felix on the mat once. Some say Vargas never recovered from that beating from Trinidad. A couple of fights later, this time in the 11th round, he was beat by Oscar De La Hoya in September 2002. Vargas with his offensive skills still dangerous, won his next four bouts before running into Shane Mosley. Mosley beat him twice in 2006. Fernando (26-4, 22 KO's) has shown to lately fight older than his 29 years of age should indicate. Which is why he is calling this his last fight. However, if you recap his defeats (Trinidad, De La Hoya, and Mosley twice), he has had a very impressive career. Which many believe he has a lot of fight left in him. Is this a true retirement or just extra hype to drive ticket sales? Friday November 23rd, at the Staples Center, Los Angeles California Ricardo "El Matador" Mayorga (28-6-1 23KO's) against "The Aztec Warrior" Fernando Vargas (26-4 22KO's). This brawl will be at a catch-weight of 162-pounds, 8 pounds higher than the Jr. Middleweight limit. View "MichaelMcKillop" picks now!
The Aztec Warrior was a true street fighter turned boxer growing up. You can times his professional record by 3 to just get a closer number of actual brawls. He is one tough kid that would rather die in the ring than leave anything left in it. He fights with anger from his father leaving him when he was just a child. Within most fighters, anger is their enemy, while Vargas is fueled by his. In my opinion, if he get this win, this will be his last fight. I have never been "unsatisfied" having banked on a Fernando Vargas fight, win or lose... If he leaves the ring, the sport will lose a crowd favorite. Like him or not, his excitement, courage, and pride will be missed by all in the industry...

Saturday, November 17Th at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, N.J. on HBO "Boxing After Dark" at 9:45pm ET/PT. The fight is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Sycuan Ringside Promotions and Top Rank. The 12-Round Championship Bout is for the WBO Junior Lightweight Title . Champ Joan Guzman (27-0, 17 KOs) makes his highly anticipated return to the ring after nearly a year out, against Humberto Soto (43-5-2, 27 KOs). "Joan Guzman vs. Humerto Soto promises to be one of the most explosive fights of the year." Stated Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar de la Hoya. Guzman's last fight (December 2006), he scored a 12-Round unanimous decision win against Antonio Davis in Guzman's hometown of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Joan Guzman has been out for the last year when he suffered an injury to his "left hand" during training, when he was trying to move up in weight to fight Michael Katsidis. The fight was canceled just weeks prior to the fight. Calling Guzman anxious to step back in the ring would be an understatement. "I am ready to get in there and show off my skills." Jose Nunez (Guzman's long time manager) believes Joan is as ready as a fighter can be for this fight. "He has that look in his eyes that you only get when you have been out of action for nearly a year. He is healthy and hungry to defend his title." The Dominican Guzman is currently rated #4 rated fighter at 10lbs. "I can't wait to get back in the ring and throw punches," said Guzman, who now has a new trainer in his corner (Floyd Mayweather, Sr.). Mayweather Sr. was brought in to work on Guzman's footwork and defense, and he doesn't feel Soto will be able to hit his fighter. Humberto Soto is one of the most talented fighters in the game, and one of the most avoided. Soto has the heart of a warrior, followed with a really high level of skill. Humberto is a two-fisted boxer-puncher, who is peeking right before our eyes. Soto has gone unbeaten since 2002, which is his last 20 fights. In my opinion, it is scary how much he improves in each fight he gets. In 2005, Soto won the Interim WBC World Featherweight Title by handing the 2000 Olympic Silver Medalist Rocky Juarez his first loss as a pro. This fight (my opinion) put Soto on the world map, finally... This past June, Humberto knocked out the highly regarded Bobby Pacquiao in the seventh round. Humberto Soto is currently rated number two in the world by the WBC. The Mexican Soto is currently rated #6 at 130lbs. The questions you should ask yourself before placing your wager on this fight. You will need to know if Guzman will show too much rust in the early rounds to effect him if this fight goes to the card. Will Guzman's left hand hold up in the late rounds after being broken? Did Mayweather Sr. have enough time to work with Guzman to avoid Soto's endless educated pressure? Is this fight a trap bet, purely set up for a rematch? Will Soto's winning streak of 20 come to an end? Will both fighters have stamina problems? Who has the better knockout power? Which way will the judges lean towards if the fight is too close to call for the naked eye? Did the odds makers have the betting line right (Betus.com opening line has Guzman as a -185 favorite), or did they lean towards big names? If you don't know the answers to some or all of these questions, purchase my Michael McKillop Boxing pick now. Bet on Boxing at Betus.com |
