Each and every year the tradition of the Heisman Memorial Trophy grows. Lets take a look at the Early 2008 Heisman Trophy Odds as we all anticipate the upcoming season. The trophy is named after John W. Heisman. He studied the dynamics of the game and its evolution. He also knew everything there was to know about football. He helped to develop the game and his award goes to the most outstanding college football player of the year. The recipient of the award is respected and viewed by many as one of the best.
Another thing to take into account as you consider the early 2008 Heisman Trophy odds, is that the winner usually comes from a top ranked team in the nation. They winner’s team always has a very good record. A player from an undefeated team has won the award 15 times. This is a very important stat to look at when you bet on the winner. I recommend that you pick someone on a top team with a lot of talent. With all of this being said, many people are interested to see who will win this year. There are many candidates and selections. Looks take a look at early 2008 Heisman Trophy odds and choices from BodogLife.com: Tim Tebow, QB, Florida (3:1) - Tim Tebow took home this award last season and is the early favorite to repeat this feat again. He’s a very versatile quarterback and can hurt you in many ways. Last year he had a quarterback rating of 172.5. He had 3286 passing yards, 32 touchdowns, and a completion rate of 66.9%. His rushing game is also very strong. Tebow had 210 attempts for 895 yards and had 23 touchdowns. His resume is excellent and I think that he is the best quarterback in college football. Chris Wells, RB, Ohio State (6:1) – Chris Wells’ arrival at Ohio State has been one of the most anticipated ever. He has lived up to his hype and proved his worth. Last season as a sophomore he became Ohio States starting running back. He started every single game and put up some impressive numbers. Wells averaged 5.9 yards per carry for over 1600 rushing yards total and had 15 touchdowns. If Ohio State can have a good season, then look for Wells to be a top candidate to win the Heisman Trophy this year. LeSean McCoy, RB, Pittsburg (20:1) – LeSean McCoy is one of the long shot picks to win the Heisman. It wouldn’t be a complete list if I didn’t include an underdog. McCoy defiantly has a chance to win. He is an excellent athlete and will only continue to get better with experience. If you are a fan of the underdog, maybe consider placing a wager. The BCS national championship will be decided at the Superdome, where the favored BCS odds No. 2 LSU Tigers should enjoy a decided home-crowd advantage when they face the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes. Wow – how do you figure this game? Two teams that looked like they blew their title hopes back in November, wind up in the biggest BCS picks matchup of the season. Last year, there was little doubt Ohio State belonged in the BCS title game - even after the Buckeyes were stunningly routed by Florida, the team whose BCS selection was hotly debated leading up to the contest. This is a huge revenge game for Ohio State tonight, but they are 0-8 against SEC opponents coming into this game. SEC teams have won six of their first eight bowl games at 5-2-1 ATS, giving weight to their claim as the nation’s top conference, while the Big Ten is 3-4 both straight up and ATS. SportsBetting.com's linesmakers recently moved the line to favor LSU by 3.5pts versus the earlier 4 points.
BCS Championship Game New Orleans, Louisiana TV: FOX Ohio State vs. LSU, 8:00 ET
LSU has two losses, but both were in triple overtime, and they did win the rugged SEC. The Buckeyes have a bunch of talent on both sides of the ball, but remember last year when after a 50-day layoff they came out flat against another SEC champ and got crushed by Florida 41-14. Ohio State allowed only 222.5 yards per contest and limited seven teams to single digits in points and 11 to two touchdowns or less. This is where the Tigers (11-2 SU, 5-7-1 ATS) have the advantage. They also bring a shutdown defense to the championship game: third in the country in yards allowed (283.9 per game) and No. 21 in points (19.6). This is a great game tonight, I have a top play on this game tonight so check it out. I have huge stats on this game. Straight Handicapping, on-scene reports, and several angles point out a certain team as a winner. The Buckeyes and Tigers have met twice, not since 1987, with Ohio State holding a 1-0-1 edge. This years College Football picks season comes to a close tonight when the Ohio State Buckeyes take on the LSU Tigers in the BCS Championship Game. This season was one of the most unpredictable in my BCS predictions memory and tonight's participants certainly aren't without thoughts of whether or not they should be playing in this BCS Championship Game. But, as the old saying goes, "it is what it is" and neither you nor I can change the fact that it will be LSU and Ohio State tonight. So, instead of lamenting about who should and shouldn't be in this game let's take a look at some trends for your BCS picks that we could possibly exploit to our betting advantage tonight. For my BCS predictions, I decided to look at this from a conference persprective to see what each of them have done over the years. SportsBetting.com has set Ohio State as the 4 point dog in the BCS championship matchup. Big-10 Conference Underdogs have dominated bowl game action involving teams from the Big Ten over the L3 seasons going 12-8 SU & 17-3 ATS (85%). Going further back as an underdog, the Big Ten has covered 8-1 ATS in its L9 opportunities and is 18-10 ATS (64%) since the 2000 season. For total players over plays have been the way to go in Big Ten bowl games going 11-6 ATS (65%) since 2005. SEC Conference Mostly regarded as one of the top conferences in the country playing the SEC Conference as a favorite in a bowl game hasn't been all that kind to bankroll as they are only 10-14 SU and 7-16-1 ATS (30%) when they have been listed as a pick em’ or favorite of 7-points or less. With the O/U at 47.5 currently total players need to be aware that SEC teams in Bowl games with totals of 45 or higher the under is 14-7 ATS(67%) in their L21 games. Although there are a number of other factors that need to be taking into consideration in tonight's game to grab the cash, on the surface, these trends seem to point to an Ohio State cover. Michael is a profitable 3-1 ATS in his BCS Bowl games this year and tonight as his GUARANTEED final winner of the year in this game. Join MikeAlexander to grab the cash.

College Football's National BCS Champion is crowned tonight! But are the two best BCS championship picks in the nation competing for the BCS Title? Since the inception of the BCS system, there has been controversy surrounding who qualifies as the best BCS pick for a shot at the national championship. Last year, it was Michigan who felt they were slighted with the best BCS odds when Florida leap frogged them in the poll. The Wolverines went on to the Rose Bowl with the best BCS betting odds only to be spanked by the USC Trojans. This year the oddsmakers at Sportsbetting.com has the LSU Tigers as the 4pt favorite BCS pick coming into the College Football year ending BCS Championship game. LSU vs. Ohio State BCS Championship 8:00pm
This year brings the same BCS championship odds controversy. Are the two best teams in the college football nation actually playing tonight? If you're like us, you think that USC is the best college team in the country, so lets take a look tonight's BCS championship matchup for your BCS predictions. Last year, Ohio State were clearly deserving of a berth in the BCS championship game and Ohio State hopes it's learned from the experience. Perhaps the most important lesson the Buckeyes hope to take away will be how to better manage another long layoff between games. Because the Big Ten doesn't play a conference championship game, Ohio State had 51 days between its win over Michigan and the matchup with Florida. The Gators, meanwhile, were off for 36 days after defeating Arkansas in the SEC championship game. "Last year we did get complacent," said James Laurinaitis, one of the leaders of the Ohio State defense. "We felt we were invincible. We have a lot of guys on this team that know what it takes to get it done. Coach Jim Tressel said Saturday he was pleased with the way the team has practiced in New Orleans and is satisfied with the mental approach as the game draws near. "I think it's been very good. Very good," he said. Clearly the coaching staff, captains and upperclassmen have gone to great lengths to guard against a repeat of last January's debacle in the BCS Championship game. "This year, I think, we're a lot more focused," tailback Chris "Beanie" Wells said. "We're not 12-0 as we were last year. We're 11-1 and we know what it feels like to lose. We don't like that feeling at all and we don't want to feel that on the way home." They face a very impressive and talented LSU side that averaged 38.7 points per game - good enough for 12th in the nation. They use a dual quarterback system splitting time between Matt Damon look-a-like Matt Flynn and Ryan Perrilloux. Flynn's running has been limited this season because of injuries. Perrilloux has started twice, including the SEC title game against Tennessee, and passed for 541 yards and four touchdowns in games when Flynn was banged-up. When Flynn is fine, and he says time off has helped heal his sprained ankle and bruised throwing shoulder, Perrilloux mostly runs the type of keepers that Williams used so effectively against the Buckeyes. With Perrilloux designated the "running" quarterback, Flynn's mobility has been overlooked. "Me and Matt are pretty much the same height, same speed, same weight," Perrilloux said. "I'd rather go in there and take that lick for him so he can stay healthy." Ohio State is looking for its 5th National Championship and first since knocking off Miami in double overtime in the 2003 Orange Bowl. LSU, which shared the national title with consensus No. 1 USC in 2003, seeks its third championship. Be sure to check out who we like in this one tonight!

On Thursday, January 3rd the eighth-ranked Kansas Jayhawks take on the fifth-ranked Virginia Tech Hokies in the 74th-annual Orange Bowl. Kansas Jayhawks (11-1) vs Virginia Tech Hokies (11-2), 8:00 PM EST on Fox Oddsmakers currently have the Hokies listed as 3½-point favorites versus the Jayhawks, while the game's total is sitting at 53. Kansas' comeback bid fell just short in a 36-28 loss to Missouri last time out, falling as 1.5-point favorites. The 64 points scored were UNDER the posted total of 66. Todd Reesing went 28-for-49 for 349 yards, two touchdowns and two picks, while Dexton Fields had eight receptions for 116 yards and a major for the Jayhawks. Virginia Tech scored 14 fourth-quarter points in a 30-16 win over Boston College in the ACC title game last time out, covering the 4.5-point road spread. The 46 points scored were UNDER the posted total of 48.5. Sean Glennon went 18-for-27 for 174 yards, three touchdowns and a pick, while Eddie Royal had four receptions for 63 yards and a score for the Hokies. Kansas is strong on the defensive side of the ball. The team finished the regular season ranked fourth nationally in scoring defense (16.0 ppg), sixth in rush defense (91.4 ypg) and 14th in total defense (318.3 ypg) and finished the year ninth in interceptions (20). Tech offense this season is averaging 29.3 ppg, on just 332.4 yards of total offense. The rushing attack is good for 133.5 yards per game, while the passing attack goes for an additional 198.8 ypg. The Hokies come into this bowl game ranked second in scoring defense (15.5 ppg), fifth in rush defense (86.0 ypg), fourth in pass efficiency defense (97.90), fifth in total defense (293.3 ypg) and seventh in interceptions (21). This should be a great game. Teams from the ACC have struggled in Miami’s Orange Bowl historically, going just 1-5 ATS in their L6 opportunities. The Big 12 on the other hand, is 3-1 SU & ATS in its L4 trips here. This would seem to favor Kansas except for the fact that the designated HOME TEAM is 9-4 ATS in the L13. A few trends to consider: Kansas is 11-1 SU in its last 12 games Kansas is 9-1 ATS in its last 10 games The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Kansas's last 6 games Virginia Tech is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games Virginia Tech is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games Bet on College Football at Sportsbetting.com View College Football Bowl Game Betting Odds now at OnlineSportsHandicapping.com!
