 College Football Thursday Night VIP Game of the Month Picks Preview: The UAB Blazers head to south Texas to take on the Houston Cougars in this Thursday night college football picks match-up. The Houston Cougars and their “high octane” offense have been installed as -18 point college football odds favorite in this Thursday night match-up at Heroes.
UAB has struggled through the early portion of their schedule this season, as they come into this game with a rough 1-5 record. The Houston Cougars come into this game with a 2-3 record, however they have struggled against the spread, going 1-3 ATS. The Cougars bring their trade-mark stellar offense into this game, as they have passed for 399 yards per game. They are led by QB Casey Keenum who has some spectacular stats so far. The Cougars are coming into this game off a huge upset, as they beat East Carolina last week.

Clemson vs Wake Forest College Football Picks and Betting Preview: Clemson off a loss last week to Maryland 20-17. Clemson dominated much of the stat sheet, posting a 372-295 yardage edge, including 221-123 on the ground but still loss the game. The Tigers do have that key balanced attack, averaging 5 yards per carrier. Clemson, was ranked ninth in the preseason Top 25, got blown out 34-10 at home in its season opener against then-No. 24 Alabama who is now #2 in the AP Poll. "As a coach, you're disappointed that you let 80,000 people down," said coach Tommy Bowden, who has borne the brunt of the criticism for the Tigers' failure to live up to expectations.
Wake Forest also coming off a lose as 17 points favorites to Navy losing 24-17. This was my top dog play of the week at that time and I had the call on Navy winning outright. They allowed 292 rushing yards, leading to a time-of-possession deficit of more than 13 minutes. Wake Forest is on a 4-1 ATS run in this series (2-3 SU), all as an underdog, though Clemson rolled 44-10 at home last year laying nine points. The home team is 5-1-2 ATS in the last eight meetings. Wake Forest, opened its 2008 season ranked 23rd, and beat Baylor 41-13 on Aug. 28 - and it was on a Thursday night.

 College Football Picks Louisville vs Memphis Betting Preview: Two teams looking to move above the .500 mark will meet Friday as Memphis hosts Louisville in a nationally televised game on ESPN. The Cardinals enter the game at 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the Big East after losing to Connecticut almost two weeks ago by a score of 26-21. Memphis has won three straight games after losing their first three of the season. Last week they defeated UAB 33-30. UAB at Houston College Football Picks and Odds Preview: The UAB Blazers take on the Houston Cougars in a college football picks Conference USA showdown Thursday night. Houston is the heavy 18-point favorite against the 1-5 Blazers who will be looking to rebound from a last second loss to Memphis last week. The college football odds makers at BetUS.com have UAB as the -18 point college football picks favorite with the total set to 66.5.
UAB QB Joe Webb is no doubt one of the conferences most exciting talents. Webb rushed for 93 yards and three scores and passed for 235 more yards and another score last Thursday against Memphis, but he also coughed up two fumbles that ultimately cost the Blazers a three-point defeat.
The defeat also deserves some of the heat for the loss as Memphis QB Arkelon Hall picked them apart with with 244 yards and four touchdowns.
The offense has shown that it can score the football against teams of a similar caliber, putting 34 points on the board against FAU, 45 against Alabama State, and 30 last week against Memphis, but the defense has been torched for 33 or more points in 5 of 6 games this college football picks season. This side of the football is going to have to play much better this week against an explosive Houston team to have a chance.
