On Saturday May 31st, Elite XC MMA will make its debut on live on CBS Sports 10PM primetime. One of the main fights on the Elite XC scorecard is going to be for the Middleweight Championship between Robbie Lawler and Scott Smith. This is going be a very interesting and entertaining fight as both fighters will come in hungry and eager to win the CBS Sports premiere MMA matchup. This may very well be the most talked about fight of the Elite XC MMA Debut. These two veteran fighters will go toe to toe and battle for the Elite XC title.
Robbie Lawler is a well rounded fighter and has a very impressive resume. He comes into the fight holding a record of 15-4 in MAA. He has fought almost everywhere, including: UFC, Pride, IFL, as well as a few other places. He fights out of Team Hughes corner and will look to use his guidance to win the fight. He will need to apply constant pressure and be relentless in his striking. He has great takedown defense and has some solid wresting skills. He keeps his distance and wait for his chance to strike and explode. Lawler is an excellent fighter and I like him to defend his title successfully and defeat Smith. Currently Oddsmakers at BodogLife.com have Robbie Lawler as a -260 favorite heading into Saturday’s CBS Sports MMA premiere fight night. Don’t discount Scott Smith, he is a great fighter. Smith comes into the fight with a MMA record of 13-4, winning 11 of his fights by knockout. He has had some problems in his ground game but has been rather dominate in his stand up game. He has won his last two fights by knockout against Kyle Noke and Jeff Morris. His problem in this fight is that Lawler is able to match his stand up game and will be willing to duke it out. Keep you eyes on this MMA fight as it will be a good one. View MMA Betting Odds at OnlineSportsHandicapping.com before you bet on MMA at BodogLife.com |

The EliteXC fight card premieres on CBS Saturday May 31st 10PM primetime, back yard brawler Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson will take on James Thompson at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey for your MMA picks. This is going to be a great fight with lots of fireworks. Both fighters love to come out very aggressive and throw a flurry of punches at their opponents. Currently Oddsmakers at Sportsbetting.com have Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson as a -600 favorite heading into the fight on Saturday.
Kimbo Slice is a very raw fighter and is still new to MMA. He doesn’t have all the skills required, but is one of the hardest punchers out there. He is a legendary backyard street fighter and there are lots of youtube videos to show how tough he is. So far Slice holds a record of 2-0 and is undefeated in MMA. His last fight was very impressive against Tank Abbott, where he knocked him out in the first round. He has yet to fight a true MMA fighter, but is still training hard. James Thompson is a Pride fighter and is a veteran of the sport. He usually knocks out his opponents or gets knocked out in the process. He is known to come out of the gates firing rapid punches at his opponents. Thompson has several impressive MMA wins in his career, including wins against Dan Severn, Don Frye and Hidehiko Yoshida. Although during his last couple of MMA fights he has looked sloppy and unimpressive. In his last MMA fight Brett Rogers knocked him out in the middle of the first round and his previous fight before that only lasted 10 seconds. This is going to be a very entertaining CBS premiere fight with a lot of punches being thrown. Each CBS/EliteXC fighter is looking to knock the other out. I think Kimbo Slice will catch Thompson with one of his strong power punches and knock him out in the early rounds. |

UFC’s 84 “Ill Will” at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada was excellent as expected. The main event of the night was P.J. Penn vs. Sean Sherk for the UFC 84 Lightweight championship. There has been a lot of smack talk from both fighters for this match and Penn retained the title and came away with the victory.
Fan favorite UFC Fight of the night was Wanderlei Silva vs Keith Jardine . If you Bet on Silva you will be happy to know he came away with the UFC 84 round 1 KO victory. The UFC 84 36 second knockout winner Silva who had 31-8-1 held more experience and a better record then Jardine who is 13-4-1. Silva demonstrated excellent power striking showed his power with a 36 second round 1 knockout. Additional UFC matchups were Wilson Gouveia vs. Goran Reljic, Reljic came away with the UFC 84 victory by a ref stoppage. Reljic dropped Gouveia with a left hook, pouncing quickly and finishing the match . UFC 84 featured fight matchup was “Huntington Beach Bad Boy” Tito Ortiz vs the undefeated karate master Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida . Many people wondered if Machida can win this fight and keep his 12-0 UFC fighting record in tact. Tito had a his chance at the upset. He had a triangle lock as Machida attempted to get his head out, but instead Tito went for an arm-bar which Machida was able to get out of, and Tito lost the fight by unanimous decision.. UFC 84 was a spectacular event so make sure you get in on the MMA action and bet on UFC fights.

The main event of the night is going to be P.J. Penn vs. Sean Sherk for the UFC 84 Lightweight championship. There has been a lot of smack talk from both fighters for this match. Penn is just recently getting into top form. He is excellent at submissions and has a strong stand up game. Sherk is in tremendous shape, is a superb wrester and has a great ground and pound game. This is a tough fight to call. I think that Sherk is going to be very hungry coming into this fight. He has an impressive resume, and holds a great record of 35-2-1. He wants to regain the title and I like him upset Penn by knocking him out in the later rounds. Currently Oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com have Penn has a -260 favorite heading into tonight’s UFC 84 match. There are many other UFC 84 "Ill Will" fights besides the main one that are going to be on the scorecard tonight. Let’s take a look at how to bet on them. Fan favorite, Wanderlei Silva is scheduled to fight Keith Jardine. When deciding who to bet we look at a couple factors. Silva at 31-8-1 holds more experience and a better record then Jardine who is 13-4-1. Silva has excellent power striking and great technique. I think that his world class experience is going to be too much for Jardine to handle and he will win the match by knockout. There are many more UFC 84 fights to bet on, including: Wilson Gouveia vs. Goran Reljic and Tito Ortiz vs. the undefeated Lyoto Machida. When choosing who to bet remember to always research both fighters and get some incite as to what each different fighter’s styles are and how they match up against each other. UFC 84 is going to be spectacular so make sure you get in on the action and bet. View UFC 84 Betting Odds at OnlineSportsHandicapping.com before you bet on MMA at Sportsbook.com |
