 As we head into UFC 73: Stacked, verbal jabs are being thrown at a high rate surrounding the Tito Ortiz vs. Rashad Evans Light-Heavyweight fight. Bodog.com has this fight at even with both Ortiz and Evans each listed at -115 odds.
First, Tito Ortiz and Rashad Evans had a shoving match. Then Ortiz called Evans a “nappy headed ho”. Now Evans feels disrespected and vows to punish Ortiz.
And of course Dana “am I a boy or a girl” White could not resist and had to flap his lips calling Ortiz a “Big Ugly Gorilla” in an effort to hype UFC 73 a bit more. I was going to leave dear Dana White alone after calling him out in a previous article for Point-Spreads.com and on the Carmichael Dave radio show but man he sure makes it easy.
If lily white Dana were to take an honest look in the mirror he would recognize that he resembles a weasel mixed with a albino monkey. Man this clown really makes me chuckle.
So with all the bad blood I’m hoping at least we get a decent fight out of all this garbage. An estimated 18,000 Tito Ortiz fans will be pulling for the “Huntington Beach Bad Boy” to rebound with a win over Rashad Evans.
In his last fight Tito looked pretty ordinary before being stopped by Chuck Liddell. While Liddell can make most fighters look bad, Ortiz didn’t seem to fight with much fire in the belly.
Rashad Evans is undefeated with a 15-0 record and has the swagger of a man who hasn’t learned how to lose. For this fight Evans has trained feverishly in the mountains of Albuquerque, New Mexico with nothing but Tito on his mind.
In his last fight the wrestler Evans looked very impressive stopping Sean Salmon with a brutal kick to the head. Most people had previously viewed the stocky 5'11" Evans as just a good wrestler, but lately Evans has shown versatility striking.
It’s no secret what Ortiz (16-5) is looking to do in this fight. Tito will look to put Evans on his back and violently pound him stupid. Problem is, Evans is an even better wrestler than Ortiz. Evans has also displayed excellent defense while on his back.
This fight could really go either way, but the feeling here is that the 32 year old Ortiz, who has been getting some love from his sexy porno star girlfriend Jenna Jameson while living the good life, doesn’t want it quite as bad as the young gun Rashad Evans, 27.
UFC 73 Prediction: Rashad Evans for 1 unit.
