The trash talk started right form the beginning of the  St Pierre vs Serra UFC 83 matchup last night. St Pierre opened the fight with dominance charging across the ring and putting Serra flat on his back. St Pierre dominated the 1 and a half round fight for the victory over Serra.

In front of a North American MMA record crowd of 21,390 at the Bell Centre, St-Pierre completed the fight with a series of punches and huge knees to Serra's body in the middle of the second round to finish Serra off.

St-Pierre (15-2, 10-2 UFC) hailing from Montreal Canada has won back the UFC welterweight title belts he was previously defeated by Serra last year at UFC 69 in Houston, Texas. Serra left the UFC 83 ring with his face cutt up and bruised below his right eye.

It was clear St-Pierre was fighting with a some anger. Before the fight he referred to Serra's trash talk several times during the week leading up to the UFC Saturday night fight. During previous days leading up to the fight, on the radio the fighters got into a war of words, with Serra calling St-Pierre "frenchy."

All the trash talk did not mean much once St-Pierre won the UFC 83 matchup . 

"My strategy was to make it a physical fight, make him tired," said St-Pierre, who despite losing by KO last time in UFC 69 was a 5½-to-1 sportsbook favorite. "I know my athleticism would help me win. I wanted to mix it up as much as possible. I tired him out and took the fight."

When asked, UFC president Dana White said he was really impressed by St-Pierre.
