On June 16th, Javon Walker was a victim of robbery in Las Vegas. He was hospitalized with a concussion and a battered face one day after he was beaten, robbed and left unconscious on a Las Vegas street after a night of partying. Police finally arrested one of the men Tuesday, Arfat Fadel of Las Vegas. He was accused of multiple felonies, including kidnapping, robbery, battery and conspiracy in a June 16 robbery. Lt. Clinton Nichols, friend of Walkers, said he lost about $3,000 in cash and $100,000 worth of jewelry in the robbery. The money has not been recovered yet. The NFL betting odds at Sportsbook.com have the Oakland Raiders at 7 to 1 to win the AFC West. "The suspects knew who Mr. Walker was. He did not know who they were," Nichols said. "Whether they were part of his entourage or not remains to be seen." Nichols said Walker got out of one vehicle and was riding with friends, and then he got into Fadel's car where he was assaulted. "The suspects knew who Mr. Walker was. He did not know who they were," Nichols said. What I think probably happened was his friends in the club set him up. Guys are hungry out in Vegas and the hoods there are as ruthless as anywhere, if not worse as so much money is around them, yet so many people live in poverty. Officers are still looking for another suspect. Metro detectives say Walker went with Fadel willingly, even though he did not know who he was dealing with. What the heck was he getting into their car for and he didn't know them prior to that evening? This could have been a drug deal gone bad. It is exactly what sounds like happened and I think that's the real issue that's being hidden here. Walker is lucky to be a live right now. Last year Derrant Williams died in Vegas over some silly stuff, and actually died in Walkers arms. You think he would have leaned from that awful experience last year. Who walks around with $100,000 in jewelry on the streets of Las Vegas at night? This year Javon Walker signed with Oakland Raiders, he came over from the Denver Broncos, their division rival. The deal is reportedly for six-years and worth around $55,000,000 with $16 million guaranteed. Injuries limited Walker to eight games last season and he finished with 26 catches for 287 yards and no touchdowns. He was a former number 1 draft pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2001.
