New Orleans Saints NFC South Betting Preview and Odds 2008 As we all anticipate the start of the 2008 NFL season lets take a look the NFC South NFL Betting Odds and the New Orleans Saints . The Saints got of to an 0-4 start last season.  Injuries hurt them a ton all year long.  If they stay healthy then they are the team to beat in this tough division.  The Saints attacked the league and ended up playing in the NFC Championship Game in 2006.  They look to get back to that same form in 2008 NFL Season.

Last season the Saints lost there first four games of the season.  If you think they felt sorry for themselves and gave up on the season you are mistaken.  They made a huge run at the end of the season and just missed making the playoffs.  In the end, they couldn't climb all the way out of the huge hole and finished 7-9.  Quarterback Drew Brees, and the Saints go into another season as a legitimate contender in the NFC South.  The NFC South NFL Betting Odds at Bodoglife.com currently have the New Orleans Saints 22/1 to win the 2009 Superbowl

The last 3 seasons the Saints have gone 3-13, 11-7 and 7-9.  The one winning year they ended up in the NFC Championship game, with a loss to the Bears.  The Saints invested a lot of money in the off-season on the defensive front.  These guys must be up to the test if they are going to make it to the playoffs as this is a hard division this year.  In 2007 the defense allowed 39 touchdowns and 348.1 yards per game. Head coach Sean Payton believes he's taken a big step with his team on defense and is going to solve the problem with defensive lineman Sedrick Ellis and the signing of McCray.  Ellis 1st round pick should be active, and giving the team a needed upgrade.  The NFC South NFL Betting Odds  at Bodoglife.com currently have the New Orleans Saints 10/1 to win the 2009 NFC Championship

The 2007 season wasn't a good one for former Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush.  Much of the year he was nagged by a leg injury.  A partially-torn PCL in his knee signed lined him for the final four games of the season when New Orleans was making a final push towards the playoffs.  It didn't help when the other super star running back Deuce McAllister went out with a knee injury in week 3 of the season.  The Saints are a different team without Deuce McAllister.  The question is this year can McAllister be the same runner after the surgery in late September?  This is a very important year for Bush to prove last year was just a fluke.  When he goes the teams goes.  If they are to win the division and make a playoff push they need him to stay healthy.
