Jets and Patriots give it another go on NFL Sunday... David and Goliath meet up in Foxboro The Jets blew the whistle on the Patriots earlier this year, which caused shockwaves through the NFL and the media into a frenzy. The Patriots were accused of taping the Jets defensive signals in the famous "Spygate" scandal which cost the Pats $250,000 and a 1st round pick while Coach Belicheck was fined $500,000. Today though, the shoe seems to be on the other foot with Mangini and the Jets defending their actions. It was reported that the Patriots had asked that a Jets cameraman be removed from the field during last year's playoff game for taping the game from the end zone. Mangini denies any wrong doing. "We taped the game, is what we taped, and we taped end-zone copy of the game, and we tape a double end zone, which is standard operating procedure for us," Mangini said Wednesday. "We request that every single road game, and it's usually granted if physically it's possible. And when people request it from us, we do the same thing: We grant it." Lost in this haze of contreversy is the fact that New England is 13-0 and they are flirting with history. They are coming off a whipping of the Pittsburgh Steelers last week with Brady throwing for 4 more TD passes and no picks. He now has 45 TD passes, just 4 shy of Peyton Manning's record of 49. The NY Jets are in the midst of a brutal season at 3-10 but have shown some life as of late. Prior to last weeks loss to Cleveland, they had won 2 of 3 which included an OT win over Pittsburgh. If you date back to the Wildcard playoff match between these two last season, the Jets are just 1-6 in their last 7 road games, with their lone victory coming in Miami (0-13) two weeks ago. This is a big game for both. New England is looking to continue their quest to become the 1st team since the 1972 Dolphins to go undefeated. And the Jets would like nothing more than to play the role of spoiler. You gotta love December football!
