This NHL Free Pick is the third game between theToronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators this season. Mr Pick asks, will this be the third win for Ottawa? The NHL Northeast Division rivals meet on Tuesday at Scotiabank Place. Senators 12-1-0: Ottawa is the hottest NHL Team at the moment. They were defeated only by the Hurricanes on Oct 11 by a 3-5 score home this season. Since this time they won 7 in a row. The Senators Martin Gerber is one of the best goalies in the NHL and has only 26 goals against him. The Senators look to set a franchise record with their eighth straight victory. Ottawa won his game on Sunday against a strong Boston in a close 2-1 in the overtime. Maple Leafs 6-6-3: Toronto is OK this season. The offense is doing well however the defense is another story. This years defense is Toronto’s problem, they get too many goals scored against them. Toronto lost their first game on the road versus a strong home playing devils. BUT there won against the Canadians in a close one 3-2. Bet on Hockey at Bodoglife.com Finally: Ottawa is 14-2-2, including 7-1-1 at home, against Toronto since the season of 2005-06. So far I think Toronto is the perfect opponent for Ottawa especially since Ottawa is hot and Toronto not.
Mr. Pick will be looking for Ottawa to win big in this Ottawa vs Toronto NHL matchup.

Two teams that are very familiar with each other meet on Friday night as the Detroit Red Wings host the San Jose Sharks. Last season it was Detroit defeating San Jose in the Western Conference semifinals. The Sharks failed in their first attempt at revenge about a week ago as they lost 4-2 to Detroit. SBG Global reports that early betting has the public taking Red Wings at Home. NHL Betting Preview San Jose Sharks (5-3-1) at Detroit Red Wings (7-2-1) Friday, 7:35 pm Eastern SBG Global Opening Line: Red Wings -150 , Total 5.5 Under (-140) San Jose is playing the second game of a four game road trip. They won the first game on the trip on Monday as they defeated Calgary 4-1. Milan Michalek scored twice and Jeremy Roenick added two assists. San Jose has lost 11 of their last 15 games at Detroit. Detroit continues to play well at home. They are coming off a 3-2 win over Vancouver on Wednesday as Tomas Holmstrom scored twice. "I think our guys were determined," said Red Wings coach Mike Babcock, "They got to the net, had some chances, and created some screens." Bet on Hockey at Sbgglobal.com |

Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins host the New York Rangers tonight in the NHL TV game on Versus. The Rangers come into the game struggling at 2-4-1, mainly because their high priced talent has not produced much for NHL betting fans. Free-agent centers Chris Drury and Scott Gomez are not scoring and center Martin Straka is hurt. The Rangers come into tonight’s game having scored the fewest goals in the NHL. Tuesday, 7:05 pm Eastern – Versus TV SBG Global NHL Betting Opening Line Penguins -130 , Total 6 Under (-120) SBG Global reports that early NHL betting has the public taking the Penguins at home. The Rangers have scored just 13 goals this season. The Rangers end their three game road trip tonight as they try and avoid losing four in a row for the first time since February of last year. Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist has played great but the Rangers have not scored. "Henrik's been great all year," said Gomez, "That's not the area we have to worry about." It has not helped the Rangers that Jaromir Jagr has been invisible so far this season. He has just one goal in the Rangers seven games. Bet on Hockey at Sbgglobal.com |

Two of the original six teams in the NHL resume their rivalry on Monday night as the Montreal Canadiens host the Boston Bruins. The Northeast Division is expected to be dominated by Ottawa this season but that doesn’t mean the Bruins and Canadiens can’t make the playoffs. Monday’s game will be the first meeting of the season between the two teams. SBG Global reports that early betting has the public taking the underdog Bruins on the Road. NHL Betting Preview Boston Bruins at Montreal Canadiens Monday, 7:30 pm Eastern – VERSUS TV SBG Global Opening Line: Canadiens -135 , Total 5.5 Under (-120) It will be interesting to see who is in goal for both sides on Monday night. The Canadiens have a goalie battle between Cristobal Huet and newcomer Carey Price. Most people believe that Price is the future star in goal for Montreal but Huet is not giving up the job easily. “With his size and talent, Carey is going to be a hell of a goalie, but I still can’t figure out why no one gives Cristobal the respect he deserves,” said Montreal assistant captain Christopher Higgins. “Since he got here, he’s been our go-to guy. The more important the game, the more confident Cristobal gets and the tougher he is to beat. As far as I’m concerned, the No. 1 job is his until he loses it.” Bet on Hockey at Sbgglobal.com |
