The WBA Welterweight Champion, Miguel Cotto (32-0, 26 KO’s), has been skillfully managed, which gave him the experience to become the very well rounded ‘fighter’ he is today. Antonio Margarito (36-5, 26 KO’s), is big for a welterweight, at five feet eleven inches tall. Margarito is the current IBF Welterweight Champ . This fight doesn't have the "hype" of a Mayweather or De La Hoya bout, but if your a "hardcore" boxing fan like myself, you know we have been waiting for this "brawl" for quit some time now... July 26, 2008 MGM Grand Las Vegas
Cotto has knockout power, but is not known as the biggest puncher. I like his grace around the ring that he shows the most. His footwork is second to only Mayweather, and his ability to move inside and out will bother Margarito some in the early rounds. Margarito is a "bruiser" who has knockout power in both hands. His attack of the body is what I like about his fighting style the most. However, Margarito’s main asset may be his stamina and solid chin... Margarito is a pure "slugger", but seems to start slow in the first couple of rounds. His ring skills are good, but not solid. Antonio has been working on his defense, but still has a long way to go. If you believe the best defense is a great offense, then Margarito is your fighter. He doesn't talk trash and will not hug and bump gloves after a good round. He does all his talking with his knuckles... Cotto is dangerous as a counter puncher and Margarito likes to come in and bang, so who’s beating who to the punch could easily decide this one. Styles make fights and this will be a classic brawler vs. boxer battle you won’t want to miss. Ladies and Gentlemen, were going to see the best of the best in this one, both in their prime... When placing your wager on this bout you will need to know these few things. Will Cotto be able to pound the bigger Margarito's body inside, or will his size keep him out? Will we see a knockout, and if so, who? The total is set at 9 1/2 rounds, will this fight go over or under. If the bout goes to the card, who will win the judges cards (The official Judges will include, Dave Moretti, Jerry Roth and Glen Hamada)? Will the public push the moneyline too much to pass up? These are just a few things you should know or look for my Premium Boxing Picks for the Moneyline and the winning Total... Bet on Boxing at Betus.com View Boxing Betting Odds now!
