For the first time in school history the Tennessee Volunteers come into tonight’s College Basketball Picks action as they #1 ranked team in the land when they visit the No. 14 ranked Vanderbilt Commodores. The Volunteers come into this one 25-2 SU including 11-1 SU in the SEC East off a huge win over then No. 1 Memphis that snapped the Tigers' 47 game home winning streak. The Vols leading scorer, Chris Lofton, is hoping to get back on track tonight as Memphis held him to just seven points on 2 of 11 shooting. Tennessee has been tough on the road as well positing an impressive 11-2 SU road mark. However, on the road the Vols offense has tended to struggle as they average almost 8 less points on the road scoring 75.5 points per game versus the overall season average of 83.3. The Vanderbilt Commodores got pounded by the Vols in their previous College Basketball Picks meeting 80-60 but all that might not matter tonight as they are a perfect 17-0 SU at home this season. This will be the first time in Tennessee’s history where they will have the burden of carrying the number 1 ranking but if history is any indication that might not matter as they are 36-14 ATS off a road win since 1997. Although Vanderbilt it unbeaten at home they have had problems exacting revenge as they are only 3-12 ATS (-10.2 Units) revenging a blowout loss versus opponent of 20 points or more since 1997.
