Top NCAAB Picks and Trends in the Big-12 (01-14-2008)
The College Basketball season is in full swing with Conference play beginning to become the normal trend. After most teams shore up their records with out of conference patsies they must now turn early season success into NCAA Picks Conference wins. The most intense NCAA picks seem to take place in your bigger conferences so it is there where I did my research. I decided to take a look at the Big-12 Conference to see what angles and trends we would be able to take advantage of as the season goes along. There are some interesting advantages when breaking down the betting situations. The oddsmakers at SportsBetting.com have all the lines for this years NCAA Championship.

Home Teams
Home teams in the Big-12 were a not so impressive 48-44 ATS last season. However, if you wanted to profit from these home teams it would have been wise to take them as favorites as they were a profitable 37-28 ATS in that role. Further breakdown reveals that these home favorite are a deadly 5-1 ATS when coming off a SU Dog Win.

Favorites
The general public loves to jump on favorites and if you would have done that last year in the Big-12 you would have finished with a profitable 56-46 ATS mark. A bit more focus revealed a 4-1 ATS mark with favorites who off double digit ATS win versus an opponent off a SU and ATS win.

Revenge
Looking at teams itching for revenge in the Big-12 last season didn't seem to generate any added incentive either at home or on the road as home teams with revenge were 24-26 ATS while road teams looking for revenge was 13-15 ATS. However, there was an excellent opportunity for profits by going against home teams looking for revenge after a SU and ATS loss as they were a horrible 7-15 ATS in that role.

One NCAAB picks matchup on the schedule that you might want to vist this week for your college basketball picks is Colorado and Nebraska as Buffalo are only 1-8 ATS off of a double digit loss versus Nebraska.
