College Football Picks Bearcats vs Cardinals Who will Cover the Spread?Free College Football Picks Bearcats vs Cardinals Who will Cover the Spread? The red-hot Bearcats have jumped into the Top-25 for the first time this season thanks to back-to-back wins over ranked teams and now travel to Louisville for a Big East college football picks matchup with the Cardinals.

View "madnesssports" college football picks now!

Since falling in Connecticut on Oct. 25, Cincinnati has beaten then-No. 24 South Florida 24-10 as a 1½-point ‘dog and then last week went to 20th-ranked West Virginia and got a 26-23 overtime win as a seven-point underdog. Bearcats QB Tony Pike, still recovering from surgery on his non-throwing arm, threw a 2-yard TD pass in OT to Kazeem Alli to beat West Virginia, and he’s thrown 10 TDs this season against just three INTs.

(22) Cincinnati (7-2, 4-4 ATS) at Louisville (5-4, 4-4 ATS)

Cincinnati has won six of its last seven games (4-3 ATS) to pull into a three-way tie for first in the Big East with the Mountaineers and Pittsburgh. The Cardinals are tied for seventh in the eight-team division.

Louisville has dropped two straight, both on the road, including last week’s 41-7 disaster in Pittsburgh as a six-point underdog. The Cardinals lead the Big East with 21 turnovers and coughed it up five times against the Panthers last week, including a fumble and interception that were returned for scores.

Cardinals’ QB Hunter Cantwell was replaced twice last week by redshirt freshman Matt Simms, but Cantwell is slated to start tonight even though he’s completing just 57.9 percent of his throws and has 13 TDs and 11 INTs.

Louisville has won the last five matchups (4-1 ATS) with nearby Cincinnati and nine of the last 10 (8-2 ATS). Last season, the Cardinals went to Cincinnati and got a 28-24 win as eight-point underdogs, handing the Bearcats their first loss of the 2007 season. The last time these two met in Louisville, the Cardinals prevailed 23-17 but came nowhere near covering as 25-point favorites.

Cincinnati is on a plethora of ATS streaks, including 19-9-2 overall, 5-2-1 in Big East games, 25-10-1 on the road against teams with a winning home record, 12-4-1 against teams with a winning record and 4-0-1 in November contests. Louisville is just 1-4 ATS in its last five Friday affairs, this play is a 90% play on my system!

College Football Picks and Betting Week 12 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Kosmo Philyako

Who’s Next to be the college football picks favorite? One of the great things about college football, from a fan perspective, is that monumental upsets come at the most unlikeliest of times – a point that has been driven home the last two years of college football betting in particular.

Remember when the 15.5-point favorite Ohio State Buckeyes lost to the Illinois Fighting Illini 28-21 late last season in a game that almost (should have) cost OSU a berth in the BCS title game?

How about the 24-point road fave USC losing 27-21 to the Oregon State Beavers in late-September?

No, upsets always creep up on top-ranked teams and with the college football season nearing completion, an upset now will mean the difference between a lucrative BCS bowl game or one of those other bowls.

As it stands, the Alabama Crimson Tide are the No. 1 team in the nation, ranked at the top of the BCS, USA Today and AP polls.

Top teams have a hard time staying on top, so the ‘Tide best not take any teams lightly.

This week ‘Bama faces fellow SEC West team, the Mississippi State Bulldogs and although Mississippi St. is behind Alabama in the standings, they certainly wouldn’t mind throwing a wrench into the Crimson Tide’s BCS plans; Alabama is listed as a heavy 21.5-point fave.

While Mississippi State doesn’t do well straight up against teams from its own conference, (6-14 SU) it is a profitable 11-8-1 against the spread.

However, the Bulldogs are a “Dog” worth betting on when it comes to games against Alabama.

Dating back to 1996, Mississippi State is an even 6-6 SU against the current No. 1 but more impressively, is 9-3 ATS against Alabama in that time and the two have combined for 5 Unders and 2 Overs in the last seven tilts.

The public isn’t aware of the Bulldogs’ betting line dominance as 82% of the betting volume is going Alabama’s way. Will there be a new No. 1 come Sunday?

The Florida Gators know all about falling from the top.

Even though they haven’t been ranked No. 1 this season, the Gators suffered an untimely loss to Mississippi in September dropping a 31-30 decision as a 23-point home favorite; Florida saw itself drop from fourth to 12th and 13th in the AP and USA Today polls.

The Gators have clawed back and go into this week once again in the Top 5, ranked fourth in the BCS standings.

Florida’s opponent this week? The “Ol’ Ball Coach,” Steve Spurrier, and his South Carolina Gamecocks with the Gators listed as big 22.5-point home favorites.

The Gators have the edge against South Carolina going 11-1 SU in the last 12 games, although it should be said some of those wins came with Spurrier coaching Florida.

When it comes to wins and losses against the line, it is a different story, as the two teams are 6-6 ATS.

Like Alabama, an overwhelming majority of the betting action at Sportsbook.com is coming in on Florida, 81% to be exact.

As mentioned, USC (No. 6 in the BCS) was upset by Oregon State earlier this season and this week, they play a team that upset them in October of last year, the Stanford Cardinal with the Trojans listed as 24-point road faves.

USC is at the top of the Pac-10 standings while Stanford is in the bottom half but the two teams are quite even when it comes to wins SU and ATS.

USC holds a slight 7-5 edge straight up when playing Stanford the last 12 games but is behind the proverbial eight-ball when it comes to the betting line as the Trojans are 5-7 against Stanford ATS.

The Trojans are also seeing an edge in the betting volume as 77% of the wagers are going USC’s way at Sportsbook.com.

The college football season is nearing an end but that only means that the intrigue will only increase as bowl time approaches.

Thursday Night VIP WINNER: VA Tech Hokies vs Miami Hurricanes (11-13-2008)

College Football Picks - VA Tech Hokies vs Miami Hurricanes Betting Odds: Frank Beamer's Virginia Tech Hokies head south to take on the Miami Hurricanes in this PRIMETIME College Football picks match-up. Both teams are 6-3 on the season. Virginia Tech is only 3-5 ATS, while Miami is 5-3 ATS. This should be one heck of a ballgame and we will break it down further below! The College Football betting odds makers at LooseLines currently have the Hurricanes as the -4½(-104) College football betting favorite in thisweek 12 college football picks matchup.

ATTENTION SPORTS BETTORS: VALUE-Champ Sports is RED HOT! In fact, we Won our Monday Night Football pick easily with SF +10, and cashed in BIGTIME last night with Kent State +3. Don't miss tonight's easy winner! Sign up today for only $15

Miami Head Coach Randy Shannon has turned this Hurricane program around this season. Miami starts 2 Freshman QBs in Robert Marve and Jacory Harris. It looks as if Harris will start tonight but Marve will also see action. Harris has great speed, and can make plays with his feet when protection breaks down. Harris has definitely played more effiecient than Marve, as Harris' TD / INT ratio is 7:3, while Marve's is 7:10. Miami definitely wants this game badly, as it is a primetime Thursday night home game. Can the potent Miami offense overcome the Hokies' tough defense?

Virginia Tech has struggled at times this season, but still have some big wins on their resume to be considered an elite team. QB Sean Glennon should start tonight, as QB Tyrod Taylor has a bad ankle. Tech has struggled to get good QB play this year, as both Glennon and Taylor have only combined for 3 TDs all season long. Tech's strength is its running game, which gains 173 yards per contest. They will need to run the ball effectively tonight to have a chance to pull off the road upset!
