Jimmy Boyd's MAC Game of the Year Preview (11-03-2008)
College Football Picks MAC Game of the Year Election Day Betting Preview: Week 11 college football picks and betting action gets started off on Election Day on ESPN 2 with the Miami Ohio at Buffalo MAC matchup. College football odds makers at Heroes have spoken, making Buffalo the -9(-103) college football picks favorite.

It looked like the Miami Ohio Redhawks were on the right track with a win over Bowling Green on October 18th, but how quickly things can change in the exciting MAC division. A week later the Redhawks were handed their worst homecoming loss ever - a 54-21 defeat to Kent State. It was also the most points Miami Ohio had ever given up at Yager Stadium.

Hopefully the 10-day layoff will serve the Redhawks well as they head to Buffalo to take on the current MAC East leaders in the election day college football picks matchup.

The offense has not been able to get it done for Miami Ohio this season, averaging only 18.5 points per contest. It’s not that Miami hasn’t been able to move the football, it’s that it has shot itself in the foot numerous times with costly mistakes. The Redhawks turned the ball over six times against Kent State in their last college football picks matchup. Miami’s turnover margin of -8 is the worst in the MAC and 106th in the nation.

The RedHawks will have a little bit of history on their side heading into Buffalo, having never lost to the Bulls in the previous ten college football picks matchups between the schools.

While giving up 54 points to the Golden Flashes looks bad, much of that was due to those six costly turnover. On the season, the defense has been pretty good. Miami ranks third in the MAC in total defense, allowing only 344.2 yards per game. Linebacker Joey Hudson is one of the elite defensive players in the conference, averaging 10 tackles per game.

If Miami is going to challenge the Bulls this week, they are going to need another strong game from freshman running back JR Taylor. When starter Thomas Merriweather went down, Taylor stepped in and shined immediately, rushing for 127 and 113 yards in back-to-back weeks. The passing offense remains a weak spot, but making the switch to redshirt freshman Clay Benton, who has passed for 300 yards and two touchdowns in his two starts, is an improvement. If you think the Redhawks’ defense is good enough to keep this one within the number, bet Miami Ohio at BetUS and receive up to a 50% sign up bonus.

Buffalo’s James Starks rushed for a season-high 185 yards and two touchdowns while the defense forced five turnovers to help the Bulls defeat Ohio 32-19 last week.

With the win, the Bulls pulled into a tie with Akron in the MAC East at 2-2 while Ohio dropped to last place at 1-4.

Whenever Buffalo needs a big play, it looks to its running game, but it had been a major disappointment for most of the college football picks season. The entered last weeks game ranked 10th in the MAC in rushing, averaging only 114.7 yards per game. But now that Starks is healthy, I expect the Bulls to be able to move the football on the ground.

Starks combined with sophomore tailback Brandon Thermilus for 258 yards and the Bulls finished with 279 yards rushing against Ohio.

QB Drew Willy has also run the offense effectively while taken good care of the football this season. He was 14 of 21 for 116 yards and a score last week.

Buffalo backers may be a little scared of getting beat with a backdoor cover with Miami Ohio this week. The Bulls had a chance to really bury the Bobcats last week but let them back into it due to failed execution and conservative play calling. If you like the Bulls to take care of business this week, bet Buffalo at -8 at BetUS.

Fading Favorites and Betting Dogs for Profitable College Football Picks (10-31-2008)
There are many different ways to handicap College Football Picks. Although there are some "experts" out there that want you to believe that they have the secret formula there are really only three primary forms of handicapping. They are fundamental, statistical and technical. Your best handicappers will employ a little of all three. This week in looking at our lineup of College Football picks I would like to concentrate on the statistical aspect of handicapping. Specifically looking at the performance of a team in the statistical categories within the game (ie passing yards, rushing yards, etc.) versus their opponent leading up to the month of November. The reason for this approach is probably obvious but normally teams who win the games in the stats column tend to win the game. But, then again, is that really true or can we use this angle to give us a betting advantage. Well, let's take a look at some angles that has proven to be very profitable.

Situation #1:
Teams that have won all or all but one of their games in the stats column this season.

Situation #2:

Teams that have lost all or all but one of their games in the stats colume this season.

As suspected teams in Situation #1 that are listed as a dog have produced huge profits during the month of November. The teams to PLAY ON this month when listed as a dog are Ball State, Boise State, Boston College, California, Florida, Florida State, Houston, LSU, Missouri, Oregon, Oregon State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, South Florida, Southern Ca, TCU, Texas, Troy and Tulsa.

Teams in Situation #2 and are listed as favorites have produced huge profits in November if you went against them. The teams to PLAY AGAINST this month when listed as a favorite are Central Florida, Florida International, Marshall, SMU, Temple, Utah State, Washington, Washington State and Wyoming.

Although, as stated above, handicapping should be a combination of approaches these teams will certainly give you a head start to a profitable November.

Michael Alexander has been winning on the college grid iron all season long and this week as his NCAAF Card of the Year on tap that includes his NCAAF Game of the Week, Big-12 Texas/Texas Tech Blowout, and SEC Smoker. Join Michael for all of his GUARANTEED WINNERS.

Michael Alexander SEC Smoker

Michael has yet to lose a big game selection in the SEC this season and today he'll remain perfect with the Easy Winner of the Florida/Georgia contest! This game is huge and is backed by an inside the game angle that is perfect ATS over the last three seasons! "Guys, I just don't lose in the SEC...GUARANTEED!"

PAC 10 Game of the Month: Oregon vs Cal (10-31-2008)
The 24th ranked Oregon Ducks come into this college football picks matchup at 6-2 on the year, but just 4-4 ATS. The Cal Golden Bears are 5-2 on the season and 5-2 ATS as well. This is a primetime college football picks matchup so let's break it down a bit further!

Boys we are RED HOT! Cincy +3 WON OUTRIGHT for our clients last night. Pick up our PAC 10 GAME OF THE MONTH for only $15. That is the best price on the internet! Better yet, pick up a monthly package or a weekly package to really bring in the profits.

The Oregon Ducks come into this game with a high-powered offense, as they are averaging 41.5 points per game. The Ducks have often played 2 QBs this season in Jeremiah Masoli and Justin Roper. The Ducks will be without RB Remene Alston Jr, who has been ruled OUT for this game due to injury. The Ducks will need to bring their A game on Saturday in order to take down CAL.

The Cal Golden Bears have had a successful 2008 season thus far. Their only losses have been at Maryland (a game in which they had severe jet lag) and against a much improved Arizona team. Cal is led by their standout QB Kevin Riley, who has thrown 9 TD's and only 2 INTs so far this season. Can Cal pull the upset over a ranked team? Will they be looking ahead to PAC 10 powerhouse USC next week?

I have the answer that will make you the cash! For only $15 pick up my PAC 10 GAME OF THE MONTH and start winning today. Our clients have been making consistent $$$ with our picks all season long so WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR????

Texas (8-0) at Texas Tech (8-0) College Football Picks PDF Print E-mail

The gauntlet continues for #1 Texas on Saturday as they face #6 Texas Tech.  The Longhorns have had to face three teams ranked 11th or better the past three weeks and now must face another one on the road.  Texas has proven their worth with wins over Oklahoma, Missouri and Oklahoma State and now must face a high-powered Red Raiders team on Saturday.

SBG Global reports that early College Football picks and betting has the public taking Texas on the Road.

College Football Betting Preview
Texas (8-0) at Texas Tech (8-0)
Saturday, 8:00 pm Eastern – ABC

SBG Global Opening Line: Texas  - 6 ,  Total  TBA

Saturday’s game is the last really tough one for Texas as their last three opponents are ranked outside of the Top 25. Texas Tech though is just starting their tough stretch.  After Texas on Saturday, they face Oklahoma State and Oklahoma.  The Red Raiders have been scoring points in bunches led by quarterback Graham Harrell who is first in the nation in completions and fifth in touchdowns.  He could have success against a Texas secondary that is giving up 265.5 passing yards per game, which is 9th worst in the country.  It could be a shootout on Saturday considering Texas has a quarterback of their own in Colt McCoy who leads the nation in completion percentage at 81.8 percent.  McCoy is also the leading candidate to win this year’s Heisman Trophy.

The Longhorns have averaged 48 points per game in their last five games against Texas Tech, all wins.  Texas leads the all-time series against Texas Tech 42-14. Here are more College Football picks and betting stats for Saturday’s game.  The Longhorns are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games. The Longhorns are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall. The Longhorns are 6-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. The Longhorns are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 conference games. The Longhorns are 20-9-1 ATS in their last 30 games in November

The Red Raiders are 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games on turf. The home team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings between the two teams.

SBG Global Current Line: Texas  - 4 ,  Total  TBA

The Over is 6-1 in the Longhorns last 7 conference games. The Over is 5-1 in the Longhorns last 6 road games. The Over is 4-1 in the Longhorns last 5 games in November. The Over is 4-1 in the Longhorns last 5 games overall. The Under is 6-0 in the Red Raiders last 6 home games. The Under is 6-2 in the Red Raiders last 8 games on turf. The Over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings between the two teams.

Two of the top teams in the country meet on Saturday in Jacksonville as the Georgia Bulldogs face the Florida Gators.  It is the 86th meeting all-time between the two rivals and the 76th time the game has been played in Jacksonville.  Florida has won 15 of the last 18 meetings overall.

SBG Global reports that early College Football picks and betting trends has the public taking Florida on the Road.

College Football Betting Preview
Florida (6-1) vs. Georgia (7-1)
Saturday, 3:30 pm Eastern – CBS

SBG Global Opening Line: Florida  - 5.5 ,  Total  TBA

Georgia comes into the game at 6-1 and 4-1 in the SEC while Florida is 7-1 and 4-1 in the SEC.  It is the 31st time in the history of the series that Florida has faced a ranked Georgia team.  It is only the fifth time in the history of the series that both teams will be ranked in the Top 10.  The winner of this game will only need one more league win to clinch a spot in the SEC title game.
