As we review the Ohio State Buckeyes odds for 2008 we already know the past two season they have been to the National Championship game, and look to make it 3 straight with the most talented team thus far.
Ohio State is going to be dominate again in the Big 10 this 2008 season. They have 19 returning starters back, and they are led by Heisman Trophy candidate Chris Wells. He came into the 2007 season as somewhat of an unknown. He had split time with former Buckeye Antonio Pittman back in 2006 and, though everyone knew Wells was a rare talent, it was unclear how he would react when forced to carry the load all by himself. Last season Wells rushed for 1,609 yards and 15 touchdowns while he was playing with a bad ankle and broken hand. He put up 133 yards against Penn State, 169 against Wisconsin and 222 against Michigan. Those numbers could be even better this year, if he can stay healthy. The Big 10 odds at Sportsbook.com currently have Chris Wells 5/1 to win the 2008 Heisman Trophy. Quarterback Todd Boeckman is back for his second season with Ohio State. Ohio State's quarterback Todd Boeckman waited patiently for three years, backing up quarterbacks Justin Zwick and Heisman trophy winner, Troy Smith. He played alright last season, but when it really counted late in the season Boeckman was intercepted six times and lost a fumble in the final three games, and only threw two touchdown passes. He needs to manage the game well and play mistake free ball. He should be better in his second season. The Big 10 odds at Sportsbook.com currently have Ohio St 7/2 to win the BCS National Championship game. Ohio State is loaded again on defense where they were ranked #1 all season. The team led the nation last season in yards, allowed (233) per game and points allowed (12.8). This year they should even be better. They have several All-American Candidates and they have the ability to go undefeated. Get the latest BIG 10 and CFB betting odds in real time from the internet’s best online sportsbooks.
