College Football Picks: North Carolina vs Rutgers: The Tar Heels opened up with a win last week, 35-27 to McNeese State.  I have never heard of McNeese before, and they gave up 27 points to them.  If the Tar Heels finally get the running game going, that opens up the big play potential of Tate and Nicks!   Tate finished with a school-record 397all-purpose yards last week.  The senior started with a 56-yard return on the opening kickoff and had a 54-yard run that helped set up the Tar Heels' second touchdown.  Tate is a dual threat receiving and returning kicks and punts.  The Oddsmakers at Bodoglife.com currently have Rutgers -4.5 favorites to North Carolina heading into this matchup with the total at 44 points.

Rutgers lost at home last week to a very good Fresno State team, 24-7.  Rutgers had the worst FG to TD ratio in the Big East last season, and redzone struggles continued in the Week 1 loss vs. Fresno.  QB Mike Teel was 20-for-39 for 263 yards for Rutgers, which moved the ball well but couldn't finish off drives.  I think Teel will hit some big plays in this game to his WR Britt & Underwood.  Rutgers was unable to finish, their big plays against Fresno State.  I think they'll fix it and finish their plays against UNC.  UNC does bring Tate, and although they held Fresno State in check for a half, they were unable to stop them in the second half.

College Football Picks: This is a very interesting game.  Rutgers doesn't won't to lose two home games in a row and start the season off 0-2 before having to go on the road.  They can score against UNC becuase they give up a lot of points as they did last week to McNeese State.  The last time these two teams played was back in 2002 with Rutgers getting the win, 21-16.  North Carolina and Rutgers need this win!  Tar Heels are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 vs. Big East.  Scarlet Knights are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games on grass.  I'm going to a play on this game tonight so check my College Football Picks page.
