College Football Picks: PAC-10 Key Stat Matchups with Opinion Plays (12-01-2007) |

Obviously much of today's attention will be turned to the Conference Championship contests, especially the much anticipated Missouri vs Oklahoma matchup. As I have written so many times previously, the high profile games tend to garner huge public action which translates into sharp numbers from the odds makers. That doesn't mean that there are not some good opportunities to profit from today's Championships, which I myself have huge selections on, but it certainly leaves other games that shouldn't be ignored. This week I decided to look at the PAC-10 matchups and attempt to glean any type of angles at which I could capitalize. Below are some key stats as well as some opinions on who might take home the green.
Oregon State at Oregon
Certainly Oregon's loss of their star Dixon has just about killed their season, or has it? Oregon State comes into this one at 4-0 ATS with rest but only 1-4 ATS as road underdog versus a conferenct opponent with revenge. Oregon comes in 3-1 ATS the L4 in this series, 4-1 ATS their L5 at home and 6-1 ATS at home looking for conference revenge.
Opinion: Loss of Dixon too much to overcome. Look to Oregon State in this one.
Arizona vs Arizona State
Arizona State comes into this one after getting blown out in their game of the year last week versus USC. Arizona is 8-2 ATS as an underdog, 4-1 ATS with rest and 12-3 ATS with conference revenge. Arizona State is 4-1 ATS off a weekday game but a terrible 0-4 ATS versus an opponent off a SU home win as an underdog.
Opinion: Look for Arizona to take this one.
UCLA vs USC
Certainly the line in this one is huge but inside the game consider that UCLA is 6-2 versus a conference opponent w/ revenge, but only 0-4 ATS off back to back home games. Meanwhile USC is 6-2 the L8 in this series and a perfect 5-0 ATS as double digit home favorites looking for conference revenge.
