Utah vs Michigan College Football picks: Lloyd Carr is gone as Michigan’s head coach and Rich Rodrigues now takes over this storied football program.  The Oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com currently have Michigan -3 favorites to Utah heading into this matchup.

This isn't the same team from last season that lost to Appalachian State, they know to not underestimate any team from past mistakes they've made.  Michigan should be pretty interesting to watch this season, as former West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez brings his spread offense to Ann Arbor.  The problem for the Wolverines is that most of the players on the team are not Rich Rodriguez type players.  The last game Rodriguez coached for West Virginia was last year and he was going for the National Championship against Pittsburgh as a 28 points favorite and lost the game out right.  Now he has a million dollar contract with Michigan and his first game begins on Saturday.  On defense, Michigan's front four will give Johnson fits.  Couple that with the two all-conference caliber corners in Trent and Warren and I see a long day for Utah's passing game.  The Wolverines have the pieces to improve on last season’s disaster of a season.  This is the fourth school that Rodriguez has coached at.  All three of the other schools had losing records in their first year with him at the helm.  

Michigan may have a solid defense, but Utah has a solid offense with a strong 1-2 punch at QB and RB.  Utah looks to be one of the top teams this season in the Mountain West Conference.  They are one of the most underrated and dangerous teams in college football.  QB Brian Johnson has put up 46 wins in the past five seasons with the team and he is finally healthy.  They had some big injuries to start the season, but they came on strong winning eight of there last nine games of the season, and there only loss was to BYU by 7 points.  The veteran offensive line that returns four starters that include two 2nd Team All-MWC selections.  Coming into this matchup Utah is 3-0 ATS vs the Big 10, and they are also 32-9-2 ATS as underdogs.  If they win this game they could try to run the table and go undefeated and get into a BS Bowl game.  The OVER/UNDER in Utah vs Michigan College Football Picks has been set at a total of 40 points

Colllege Football picks: This is a really tough game to handicap the side, so I will look at the total in this one.  I think the total is a little short in this one, I know Michigan defense is great but Utah offense is really good and should be able to put 20 plus points on Michigan today.  I also think Michigan will put some points up for the over 100,000 crowd on hand in the opener.  I'm looking for the total to go over today.
