NCAA Football Picks Miami vs Florida: Okay, the Gators won easy last week over Hawaii crushing them 56-10, and I must ad that they were a best bet for me last week.  Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow had one big play against Hawaii.  "Big plays take the wind out of your sails," Florida coach Urban Meyer said. "Can you expect that from us? I don't know. There's some guys that when they touch the ball and if you make a mistake, they can score on you. Fun to watch."  Florida scored on offense, defense and special teams - getting big plays from six different players - and rout.  OK...this game was set up years ago before Miami was bad.  But yes...for a long time Florida didn't want anything to do with the U.  That is why the Seminole war canoe is on permanent display at Miami.  Then Florida played them a few times in recent years and got crushed but the fact is this is a more historical rivalry than Miami-FSU and should absolutely be played every year. I think all the Florida teams should play each other every year.  The Oddsmakers at LooseLines.com currently have Florida -23 favorites to Miami heading into this matchup with the total at 51 points.

The Hurricanes beat Charleston Southern 52-7 in their new home, Dolphin Stadium, as expected but the skeptics weren’t buying into it.   The Hurricanes have dropped from the elite of college football in recent years -- they haven't been to a BCS bowl game since the 2003 season.  In last week's game Javarris James rushed 12 times for 73 yards and a touchdown for the Hurricanes (1-0), who took full control with a 21-point first quarter, their highest-scoring period since Sept. 9, 2006 against Florida A&M.  The ‘U’ stands 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS in the last 6 battles with Florida, covering 4 of the previous 5 played at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.  The most important thing to remember here, above all else, whatever you do, don't forget, no matter how bad the Canes might or might not be they always step up when it comes to playing the Noles and the Gators.
