 Week 4 College Football Predictions LSU vs Auburn: The Tigers are 2-0 coming into this game but their two wins were against cupcakes, a win in week one, 41-13 over Appalachian State and a win last week against North Texas 41-3. This will be their first test of the season. In last week's win, RB Scott ran for touchdowns of 39 and 43 yards, Trindon Holliday scored on a 92-yard punt return. It may come down to a defensive score as a winner and I also feel that the LSU defense will provide better field position which will lead to short successful drives for the Tigers of LSU. If LSU wants to keep their national champion hopes a live and repeat as champions they probably will need to win this game, or they will have no shot. The last time LSU visited Auburn was a 7-3 loss on Sept. 16, 2006. The Oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com currently have LSU -3 favorites to Auburn heading into this matchup with the total at 38 points.
Auburn has already played three games this season and won all of them. Last week though they really struggled against Mississippi State as they pulled of a win 3-2. They played lights out on defense, Mississippi State never crossed the 50 yard line except when taking over on a turnover. Auburn held MSU 0 of 14 on 3rd down conversions .. the offense moved the ball well but lost in in the red zone. Special teams will be important for field position and turnovers could be costly and lead to points quickly. The HC on last weeks game- "It's all about defense when you go on the road," Tuberville said. "We gave up zero first downs on 14 chances and only 115 yards on offense. Auburn's offense last week is what stopped them, MSST had some good plays defensively no doubt, but Auburn couldn't get out of its own way.
