Week 6 College Football Picks and Betting OddsWeek 6 College Football Picks: Fate has been cruel to both Ohio State and USC football the past few weeks with the Buckeyes losing to the Trojans in Week 3 and the Trojans losing to the Oregon State Beavers last week.

The first BCS standings of the season are set to be released on October 19 and Ohio State and USC won’t be near the top but their season’s aren’t write-offs as there is still enough time to recover, starting this week against conference opponents. The college football picks oddsmakers at SportsBook.com currently have USC as the -16 point betting favorite .

How much has Ohio State’s loss to USC affected them in the polls? The Buckeyes have not lost a game since the 35-3 embarrassment to the Trojans and beat Minnesota 34-21 last week and even though top-ranked teams such as the aforementioned Trojans, the Georgia Bulldogs and Florida Gators all lost, the Buckeyes remained stagnant at 14th on the AP poll and only moved up one spot to 12 in the USA Today rankings.

There isn’t much the Buckeyes can do about it though, all they can hope is that they keep winning and more upsets like last week happen with the Top 5 teams.

The Buckeyes play another conference game this week, this time against the Wisconsin Badgers, who were also upset last week by Michigan; Ohio State is listed as a slight 1.5-point favorite.

While considered one of the Big Ten’s finest, Buckeye bettors haven’t seen an overwhelming majority of pay days when playing the Badgers as OSU is 4-4 straight up and an ugly 2-6 against the spread since 1996 when playing Wisconsin.

However, Jim Tressel and company thrive in games with a tight line as they are 5-1 SU and ATS, since 1995, when they are favored by 2-points or less and have taken three Overs in a row in the same situation.

Bettors are split on this one, with Ohio State having a slight edge at 54% of the overall volume.

You can excuse USC coach Pete Carroll and his team if they are feeling snarly this week, losing to an unranked team when you are the nation’s best team will do that to you and the Oregon Ducks best beware this week; the Trojans have a lot of anger and aggression to let out.

The Trojans are a 16-point home favorite for this week’s game.

Bettors are lining up behind USC, as they are receiving 77% of all the college football picks volume on this game.
