Breeders Cup Odds Horse Betting ALERT!: Curlin is the Breeders Cup horse betting odds favorite in the 2008 Breeder's Cup Classic at Santa Anita. Attendance at Santa Anita is expected to reach 45,000 and most will be Curlin bettors but with the horse betting odds favoring Curlin there are sure to be other horse betting odds that cash increase your horse racing bankroll. This year Breeders Cup officials stretched this year's Breeders' Cup into 2 days of horse betting action including 14 races and $25.5 million in purses. The Grand Finale is set to go off at about 3:45PM at Santa Anita and they will load Curlin and eleven more horse racing hopefuls into the gates. In the world of sports betting, college football and sports in general, everything will pause. As Curlin and the rest of the field are loaded into the gates. Curlin won this Breeders Cup $5-million Classic race last year, in the muck and mud at Monmouth Park. This is not New Jersey and there won't be any of that at Santa Anita this year.
But there will be plenty of competition, and the horse betting world will be shrugging off the Curlin hype and looking elsewhere, assuming that nothing can be as good as Curlin sounds. OnlineSportsHandicapping.com's free Breeders Cup picks insight suggest looking for Edgar Prado on Colonel John, Edgar has mounted several big race upsets and could also let you cash in big on the Breeder's Cup Classic. Big Brown Out of Breeders Cup - Curlin Dominant Horse Betting Favorite: Big Brown will most likely not compete in the Horse Betting favorite Breeders Cup Classic after an announcement on Tuesday that he injured his foot in a workout at Aqueduct. Curlin will be entered in the Breeders Cup Classicand will most likely be the horse betting favorite.
It is almost a certain that Curlin will win the 2008 Horse of the Year honors once again this year and a second straight win in the Breeders’ Cup Classic would be a great way to wrap up his harse racing career. The big question is will Curlin take to the new synthetic Pro-Ride surface at Santa Anita Park? Curlin has had two workouts over the surface, including a very nice five-furlong workout on Monday. Jess Jackson said that he wants Curlin's horse racing fans to see Curlin one more time. “I think I owed it to the horse,” stated Jackson, “Curlin tells us he’s fit, and when a top athlete is ready, he wants to compete. And I do want to help enhance the horse racing fan base and give hardcore horse betting fans a chance to see him one more time.” There are a lot of people around the world that breathed a huge sigh of relief with Curlin’s entry into the Breeeder's Cup Classic. With the absense of Big Brown and Curlin entered in the Breeder's Cup Classic would have not drawn big numbers of Horse racing and horse betting fans. Now with Curlin confirmed to be entered in the Breeder's Cup Classic the Breeders’ Cup and Santa Anita executives can start promoting the race for early horse bettors.
The horse would have his final workout next Monday at Santa Anita stated Curlin’s trainer Steve Asmussen. If Curlin takes the Breeders’ Cup Classic he would become only the second horse in the history of horse betting to win the race twice. Tiznow won the Breeders Cup in 2000 and 2001. “This will add one more dimension to his legacy,” stated Jackson “No horse has done what he’s done, not in 20 months.” Curlin won the Preakness, was third in the Kentucky Derby and was second in the Belmont. Curlin has victories in the Classic, the Jockey Club Gold Cup and this year he is perfect on the dirt with wins in the Woodward, Stephen Foster, Dubai World Cup and the Jockey Club Gold Cup. On Saturday October 25th at Santa Anita the 2008 Breeders’ Cup Classic will take place. It is the first time the Breeders Cup Races will be run on a synthetic surface which is one reason that horse racing trainer Jackson wanted Curlin to train on the track first before making a final decision to enter him in the Breeder's Cup Classic. “I would have preferred Santa Anita to stay traditional,” stated Jackson. The plans for Curlin following the Breeders Cup are still to be determined and Curlin could be retired to stud, Curlin could race once more at Churchill Downs in November for the Clark Handicap or he could race in the Japan Cup Dirt in December. There is also an outside chance that Curlin could continue racing for another full year.

The Breeders Cup Classic a horse betting favorite for horse racing fans around the world. On October 25th we are in store for another exciting Breeders Cup Classic at Santa Anita Park in California. A confirmed field entry will be Big Brown winner of the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes in 2007. Big Brown was a notable horse of the year in 2007. Another potential contender for the Breeders Cup field this year is Curlin. Casino Drive who suffered a bone bruise was the horse betting favorite to win the Belmont. According to sources Casino Drive will attempt to take the Breeders Cup Classic with lots of rest and only a few races this year.
Horse racing bettors who are planning to make Casino Drive their pick for the Breeders Cup will have the opportunity to watch Casino Drive run this Sunday (Oct 19th) in a optional claiming at Santa Anita. Casino Drive will be an entry in the seven horse field on Sunday's eight horse race. Casino Drive will be running a mile and a 16th length horse race prepping for the Breeders Cup. BodogLife.com currently has all your Breeders Cup odds and betting options for every race leading up to the Breeders Cup scheduled to go off in 2 Sundays from today. Be sure to put your horse race betting plays in on tomorrows race at Santa Anita for Casino Drive. Casino Drive is known as a strong Breeders Cup contender in expert horse racing circles but winning the 2008 Breeders Cup will not come easy taking on a talented field. "It is a very difficult challenge," stated Tada, "The Breeders' Cup is for champions. We are at a big disadvantage. But Mr. Yamamoto and Mr. Fijusawa (Casino Drive’s owner) like international horse racing" The goal for Casino Drive was to win the Belmont Stakes. Casino Drive was prepped for that race but he never made it to the Belmont in 2007 as he developed a stone bruise. "He had a stone bruise in his left hind foot," stated Tada. "I can't express how disappointed we were that we could not run. We targeted the Belmont because of his pedigree. But I think we did the right thing, and we gave him time to recover. If we would have run, we would have been in serious trouble. It took him much longer than we expected to recover," stated Tada. "We were concerned for a long time after we arrived in Japan. It was a month and a half before we started riding him. He lost weight. We thought we might not make it here. We were originally going to come in mid-September, but we delayed his departure a couple of weeks." In other Breeders’ Cup betting news, Colonel John breezed a half-mile in 46.80 seconds on Wednesday at Santa Anita in one of his workouts prior to the Breeders Cup Classic. Also, Curlin worked at Santa Anita on Monday but his status for the Breeders Cup Classic is still up in the air. Want Breeders Cup Schedule odds and picks on your mobile device?

Zarkava and Bittel Road Win respective horse betting matchups and may head to the Breeders Cup. On Oct 24th the last big Horse betting weekend before the Breeders Cup on October 24th and 25th. Last week Zarkava won the $5.5 million dollar Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp in Paris. Zarkava upset Breeder's Cup hopefull Soldier of Fortune and Duke of Marmalade. Zarkava became the first filly to win the Arc since Urban Sea won in 1993. "We had no worries," stated trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre. "Zarkava is certainly the best horse I have ever trained." She is not expected to race again until the Breeders Cup. Bittel Road is looking strong heading into the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf after finishing first in the Grade 3, $200,000 Woodford Reserve Bourbon Stakes. Bittel Road is now three for three in wins and could be a serious contender in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf. Bittel Road went off at even money for the horse betting gambler. Vineyard Haven led by 3 1/2 lengths in the early stretch in the Champagne and easily won in 1:36.06 on a track rated as fast. It was the third win in four starts for Vineyard Haven. Vineyard Haven finsihed with a dominating win of the $400,000 Grade 1 Champagne Stakes on Saturday at Belmont Park. “How many horses do you know that can do that: go fast, relax on the turn, and then find another gear?” stated the Kentucky Derby winning jockey Edgar Prado. “I had to ease up in the last part because he was opening up too much on the group.” Vineyard Haven now will be a horse to watch for horse bettors in the Breeders’ Cup Grade 1 Juvenile on October 25 at Santa Anita. Curlin now could be pointed in the right direction heading to the Breeders’ Cup Classic in October. The owners of Curlin are now shipping him to Santa Anita to see if he will like the synthetic track. The horse betting Breeders’ Cup Classic will be held at Santa Anita on October 25th. "We're thinking about it," owner Jess Jackson stated. Trainer Steve Asmussen was more concerned about the money record than about the Breeders’ Cup. "This is what I wanted," Asmussen, "I really did. Him being all-time money winning horse, what a great ring it has to it. I'm very thankful to [Jackson] to give us the opportunity to do it in a race like this and I think for him to be at that mark with an authoritative victory in the Jockey Club Gold Cup means a lot." Curlin's second straight win makes him the ninth horse to accomplish the Jockey Club Gold Cup win and took home a $450,000.00 first place purse. Robby Albarado held Curlin back early in the race to prevent him from going wide. After spllitting horses going into the far turn Albarado had to take Curlin five wide to make the final turn. Passing Wanderin Boy at the eighth pole and Curlin came home in 2:01.93. For hte horse racing gamblers who took Curlin paid $2.80 to win. "I had to sacrifice some position and suck on in to be able to save ground before I got to the turn, and it worked out beautiful for me," stated Albarado. "Curlin put in his patented run around the outside, and I got that same feeling every time." For the second time in three years Wanderin Boy finished second in the Jockey Club Gold Cup while Merchant Marine finished third. At Belmont Park Curlin also passed Cigar to become the all-time leading horse racing money winner in North America on Saturday after he won the Jockey Club Gold Cup. Curlin pushed past Wanderin Boy to win by almost a length as the 2-5 horse wagering favorite. The victory pushed Curlin past the $10 million dollar mark in earnings to $10.2 million, surpassing Cigar who was just under $10 million.
