Belmont Stakes predictions 40 to 1 longshot Ready's Echo could be the one to upset Big Brown in the Triple Crown. Ready's Echo will start from postposition 9 in the Belmont Stakes on Saturday. His career record is 4-1-2-1, never been off the board. Early review of the Belmont Stakes betting odds has Ready's Echo at 40 to 1 at BodogLife.com. On 3/5 he broke his Maiden at Gulfstream Park at 7 furlongs. He was very slow getting out of the gate, settled off the rail in the backstretch. He made his move entering the far turn steady advancing and drew clear in the stretch to win as the second choice in the race. He came back on 4/12 to run in an allowance race, 7 furlongs which he finished 2nd to Limestone Edge. Again he was off slowly on the rail. He made a middle move, angled out and flew by them late with his closing ability. His racing style of walking out of the gate and being far back early fits well in the 1 1/2-mile Belmont Stakes.
His recent race came in the Peter Pan stakes right here at Belmont park. He ran 3rd and other Belmont Stakes contender Casino Drive won the race. He went of the 3rd choice in the betting that day. He was off slowly again and way back at the start of the race. He saved a lot of ground into the turns, angled out 5 wide entering the stretch and ran up to be 3rd. His big strategy in the race has to be taken back like he usually does, looking for a strong pace maybe Big Brown and Casino Drive get hooked up in an early duel and make that one big move in the long stretch at Belmont Park. You would think the bettors would respect the Pletcher-Velaquez winning combo from last year, with the longer the distance the better for this late charger. Expecting him to be in the 15 to 1 range. The trainer of Ready's Echo is Todd Pletcher. He won Belmont Stakes last year, his first Triple Crwon winner with Rags to Riches defeated Curlin by a head. In 2004, Pletcher won his first two Breeders' Cup races with Ashado (Distaff) and Speightstown (Sprint), which contributed to him leading the nation in earnings with $17,511,923, and receiving the first of four consecutive Eclipse Awards. Through Dec. 31, 2007, Pletcher ranked first, leading the nation's standings in earnings with $28,111,697. His horses had won 289 races from 1,228 starts ... In 2008, he reached yet another milestone--on Jan. 13, he recorded his 2,000th winner at Santa Anita.
