As horse racing fans anticipate the Breeders Cup schedule some cant seem to let go of the Triple Crown let down. Trainer Rick Dutrow Jr. says he feels "like a loser" after Big Brown's last-place finish in the Belmont Stakes, and was pulled up top of the stretch. Dutrow was also not happy with the way jockey Kent Desormeaux rode Big Brown. "I feel like a loser right now and I don't know why," Dutrow told the Daily Racing Form on Monday. "Usually when I get beat I can handle it the right way, and I've handled this the right way, but I just feel like something's not right." Dutrow said he found nothing wrong with Big Brown after the race. You feel like a loser because you ARE a loser; in fact, you are one of the biggest losers I have seen in ANY sport in a long, long time. Will Big Brown run in the Breeders Cup schedule of upcoming races?
Desormeaux pulled up Big Brown with quarter-mile remaining in the race, and was beaten by long shot Da' Tara. "I don't know why he had to do that," said Dutrow, who questioned Desormeaux's decisions in the race. "I'm sure he didn't have any idea what the hell was going on into the first turn, the way [Desormeaux] was switching him all over the damn track," Dutrow said. "I don't know what he was doing." Remember this when wondering why Desormeaux pulled up, he had no way of knowing if the horse was hurt, or just didn't have it in him to run that day. He probably was cautious after the horror show of the Eight Belles tragedy. Jockey Kent D. is nothing but a class act and a top-notch jockey. If he says the horse had nothing to give and was simply not there that day, then guess what Dutrow? The horse had nothing to give and was simply not there that day. Do you think jockey Kent Desormeaux will be aboard Big Brown for the Breeders Cup schedule? I don't get howDutrow can blame Desormeaux on this one. Kent did a pretty good job recovering from the bad start and to not get boxed in. Big Brown was third and on the outside, coming out of the first turn, down the backstretch. He was in prime position to win it. The same position he was in, in the Derby and Preakness. Everything this jerk Dutrow has said has made it clear just what a monumentous loser he truly is. 2008 Breeders’ Cup Schedule of Races:
