Casino Drive is a huge contender for Big Brown in the Belmont Stakes and may play the spoiler for the Big Brown Triple Crown picks. But Big Brown trainer Rick Dutrow Jr. doesn't think so. "He's got no chance of beating our horse," Dutrow told reporters. "I'll be in the winner's circle when they get to the quarter pole. That's how I feel. I don't see that this horse can beat him." Casino Drive is being talked about because he is 2 for 2 for his career and won both races impressively and was a $950,000 yearling purchase in 2006.
Did Dutrow just jinx his Triple Crown picks horse Big Brown? But look at the bright side, Dutrow has shown with this interview, he has a brilliant future as a boxing promoter the next time he gets set down for doping his horses. Dutrow is very arrogant. To say another horse has "no chance" just shows it. Dutrow fans might start turning on him with the comments he has been saying. I would like to see a Triple Crown winner but with his trainer Dutrow being a jerk it's kind of hard too. The only thing keeping me from really being excited is Dutrow's almost yearly penchant for doping his horses. Not the nicest trainer out there. That is bulletin board material if only Casino Drive could read. The Triple Crown picks trainer, Dutrow is kind of annoying. He seems to just want headlines for himself. Big Brown is a great horse, not a Secretariat but it is nice to see him run. We really won't know how good Big Bown is until coming down the stretch, when he sees another horse eye to eye. His greatness (or not) will be determined by his ability to find more. However, winning the first two legs of the Triple Crown is quite an accomplishment. This reminds me of the 2004 Belmont stakes when Smarty Jones was going for the Triple Crown. His trainer said to the broadcaster that day when the horses were going into the starting gate "The preparation is all done. There's nothing left to do. Now we just walk into history" . He ran second and got beat by Birdstone. Big Brown could take the Triple Crown; make sure you bookmark OnlineSportsHandicapping.com for all your premiere Triple Crown horse racing picks, previews and news.
