2007 MLB Betting Preview: San Diego Padres at Milwaukee Brewers (09-28-07)
The biggest series of the season for Milwaukee and San Diego continues on Friday as the Brewers host the Padres. Both teams are fighting for the playoffs and neither can afford a loss. The Padres turn to veteran Greg Maddux on Friday while Milwaukee counters with Chris Capuano. SBG Global reports that early betting has the public taking the favored Padres on the Road.

Maddux comes into the game at 13-11 with a 4.10 ERA. He had been pitching well down the stretch until his last start against Colorado where he gave up five runs and eight hits in just 3 2/3 innings of work.

The Brewers go with Chris Capuano who is 5-12 on the season and has an ERA of 5.09. The Brewers were hoping to go with Ben Sheets on Friday but he was scratched because of a left hamstring injury. Capuano was demoted to the bullpen earlier this season but he did pitch five good innings in his last relief appearance.
