Kimbo Slice has no Home - EliteXC Bankrupt: The Financial crisis has come to MMA fighting and the premiere CBS Saturday Night Fight's are now bankrupt. EliteXC file for bankruptcy on Oct 4th when Ken Shamrock pulled out of his schedule main event MMA fight against Kimbo Slice. Seems, Kimbo Slice did deliver the knockout blow that night unfortunately it was not in the cage. Kimbo Slice lost to Seth Petruzelli when Petruzelli filled in for Shamrock in the last few hours before fight time. EliteXC promoters, are looking for the Showtime Network to bail them out with a deal and that night were looking to fill the void of Ken Shamrock by choosing former Ultimate Fighting Championship member Seth Petruzelli over young prospect Aaron Rosa to facer Kimbo. UFC President Dana White had something to say about the bankruptcy and has described the direction to Petruzelli as "criminal." “Why set it up for Kimbo to lose in the worst possible way, hurting his stock so much more than if he was beaten on the ground? The casual fan would have forgiven Kimbo if he lost by submission.” Head of fight operations for EliteXC Jeremy Lappen, said some of the criticism is unfair. "Kimbo never claimed to be anything he wasn't. He was a fighter that just participated in only his fourth professional fight," stated Lappen "The promoters kind of hinted to me and they gave me the money to stand and trade with Kimbo” stated Seth Petruzelli “They didn’t want me to take him down. Let’s just put it that way. It was worth my while to try and stand up and punch with him.” The BIG QUESTION is what is going to happen to Kimbo Slice? Will he fight again? The fact still remain that Kimbo Slice draws fans, but Dana White called him a joke! It does appear that Affiliction may pick up Kimbo Slice assuming he still wants to continue his career in MMA. OnlineSportsHandicapping.com will monitor the developments of Kimbo Slice and the MMA community to keep fans posted on any new developments. Keep your eye on these Upcoming MMA Betting matchups! One fi ghter who has the world watching is Kimbo Slice; Slice a Miami street fighter known for his backyard brawls on youtube.com will face aging Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock on October 4th on the CBS EliteXC Saturday Night Fights. Kimbo Slice recently wrapped up training in Thousand Oaks, California and will be heading to a private gym in Fort Lauderdale to train for the final week leading up to the CBS EliteXC Saturday Night Fight . During an open workout Slice stated.” Once again I am fighting back in the crib," "It feels like the backyard except we have a cage in EliteXC. I'm ready for anything that can possibly go down." Kimbo is more prepared for his 4th MMA fight but also realizes he is still a rookie heading into the matchup against Ken Shamrock. "Anything that Shamrock tries on me, I am prepared for. I am looking forward to beating Ken and kicking his ass. I am hoping to see the best of Ken because he'll see the best of Kimbo." Kimbo's trainer Bass Rutten stated "Slice is still learning and I'm not sure people understand you just don’t walk into this sport and learn it overnight." "Kimbo listens and picks up on everything we tell him. Kimbo can fight!" Fight Promoter Dana White stated "Ken is way past his prime, it gets to a point where it’s dangerous for that old guy to be fighting" - "but he just might beat Kimbo because Kimbo sucks " Most hardcore MMA fans are still unsure about Kimbo Slice, who has become the sports biggest draw, the remaining fights on the card for the Oct 4th CBS EliteXC Saturday Night Fight include other known and tested fighters like Paul Daley, Murilo Rua, Gina Carrano, Jake Shields and Benji Radach. |

On Saturday September 6th at Phillips Arena in Atlanta Georgia, UFC 88: Breakthrough takes center stage in the MMA world. The event is headlined by none other than super light heavyweights Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell and Rashad “Sugar” Evans. Jimmy Boyd takes an in depth look at the main event in this UFC 88 odds and predictions article. Chuck Liddell: -280 to win at BetUS This fight has been long overdue as far as UFC fanatics are concerned. Liddell was originally slated to face off against Evans in UFC 85, but now their inevitable showdown will happen in UFC 88. Liddell has not fought since a stunning win over Wanderlei Silva at UFC 79 and now he will face the undefeated Rashad Evans. The former UFC light heavyweight champ lost his 205-pound title to Quinton Jackson and then lost to Keith Jardine in back-to-back bouts. The Iceman has won eight of his last 10 fights and he would like nothing more than to continue his quest toward regaining the light heavyweight title by ending Evans’ unbeaten streak. The UFC legend has a career mark of 21-5 and will no doubt be the fan favorite. We expect many biased bettors to take Liddell in the chalk role. Rashad Evans: +210 to win at BetUS.com Evans won the Ultimate Fighter 2 heavyweight tournament by defeating Brad Imes in the finale. He has since dropped down to the 205-pound weight class and defeated the likes of Sam Hoger, Stephen Bonnar, Jason Lambert, and Sean Salmon on his way to a 13-0-1 professional record. Evans did lose on the scorecard to former UFC champ Tito Ortiz, but he earned a draw when Ortiz was handed a point deduction, for grabbing the fence, to maintain his unbeaten mark. Evans’ last fight was a win via unanimous decision against The Ultimate Fighter 3 winner Michael Bisping at UFC 78. Evans has all the motivation to win here as it will catapult him to the top of the 205-pound rankings and you can get him at a nice price. Prediction: Liddell has definitely fried bigger fish than Evans in his decorated career. The most significant here is Tito Ortiz, who The Iceman has beaten twice via KO and TKO respectively. Tito Ortiz is not the fighter he was when Liddell crushed him and Ortiz was able to beat Evans (without the deduction) more recently. I don’t read much into Liddell’s last two losses as Quinton Jackson has had his number, and Keith Jardine’s win was about as much of a fluke as you’ll ever see in this sport. Also, the fact that Liddell bounced back to beat Silva via unanimous decision tells me he has put those defeats behind him. Evans’ best shot is to take Liddell down, but The Iceman is noted for his exceptional takedown defense. Liddell will make this a foot war and he will then hold the strong advantage. Liddell is not ready to start on the decline, expect him to beat Evans here to make another run at the light heavyweight title. Liddell vs. Evans Odds at BetUS: Evans +210 Liddell -280 UFC 88 Odds at BodogLife Evans +200 Liddell -260 Bookmaker’s Chuck Liddell Rashad Evans Fight Odds Evans +225 Liddell -285 Bet on MMA at Betus.com View MMA Betting Odds now! On Saturday July 5th, UFC 86 betting action will be on tap to entertain while you rap-up your independence day celebrations. UFC 86 will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Mandalay Bay. The UFC Saturday night fight scorecard, will include a main event for the light heavy weight title between champion, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and challenger Forest Griffin. Quinton Jackson always puts on a good show for his fans, as does Forrest Griffin.
Forrest Griffin is just coming off of a big victory over Mauricio Rua. Rua was the last person to defeat the current UFC champion Quinton Jackson. While Forrest is not a superior technical fighter, he is undeniably one of the best in the business. Griffin holds one thing that cannot be taught anywhere and that is heart. He has all the grit and determination in the world and trains very hard. Griffin has excellent striking power and skill as well as a very good ground game. It will be interesting to see if he will be able to take Rampage down to the ground and imply a ground and pound game. If he can do so, he has a good shot at victory. Currently Oddsmakers at Sportbook.com have Forrest Griffin as a +230 underdog heading into Saturday’s fight. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is just an animal and is relentless. His striking skills and power are much more severe than Griffin’s. Also his timing is almost perfect. Rampage also has a much better wrestling game but I don’t expect this fight to be taken to the mat. Jackson will keep the fight standing up and look to duke it out. He really knows how to dial in and prepare for the fight. Jackson will need to avoid taking damage from the knee and leg kicks of Griffin. If he can successfully do so then I feel he can win this fight relatively easy. View MMA Betting Odds at OnlineSportsHandicapping.com before you bet on MMA at Sportsbook.com |
