The main event of UFC 84 on Saturday May 24th is going to be B.J. Penn vs. Sean Sherk. The lightweight title is going to be up for grabs in this fight and both fighters are going to be hungry. Penn looks to defend it for the first while, while Sherk wants to get it back after Penn defeated him for it in an earlier fight.
B.J.Penn is a master of jiu-jitsu and is very flexible. He is a tough fighter who is at the top of his game heading into this fight. He takes a very methodical approach to every fight. Penn is a master on his back and has the ability to contort his body into amazing and unique positions, which allows him to get a quick submission almost anywhere. He also has ridiculas knock-out power and his opponents often underestimate him. Currently Oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com have Penn as -260 favorite heading into Saturday’s action. Sean Sherk is a bulldog and has a very aggressive style of fighting. He has a great ground and pound game and is known for his amazing stamina and cardio. Many people consider him to be the best ground and pound fighter in all of the UFC history at the lightweight class. He is relentless and never seems to tire out. He has a background in wresting and loves to take his opponents to the mat. His strength is matched by his excellent takedown ability and has never been submitted as a professional fighter. Both these fighters have been talking a lot of smack before the fight. Each thinks that they are much better than the other. We are going to find out once and for all on Saturday who the better fighter will be. I think Penn is finally living up to his potential and he is going to win this fight with a submission. This upcoming weekend UFC 84 will take place. There are a number of good UFC 84 betting odds and fight picks to look at; including veteran fighter Tito Ortiz vs undefeated Lyoto Machida. The UFC 84 fights will take place on Saturday May 24th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Tito Ortiz comes into this fight with a MMA record of 16-5-1. He is trying to regain his form at the 205 pound weight class. If he is able to beat Machida he would gain confidence and would put his one step closer to becoming the best fighter is his class. Ortiz’s last fight ended in a draw against Rashad Evans and the one prior to that was a loss due to knockout to Chuck Liddell. He is beginning to get older, now age 33 and he has the ability and experience to climb to the top. It is just a matter of how bad he wants it. He has not fought in a while so his conditioning will be a big factor in this fight. He will look to try to land some quick blows and end the match early. He has a ground and pound style and will need to imply this strategy if he wants to be successful. Currently Oddsmakers a Sportbetting.com have Ortiz as a +160 underdog heading into Saturday’s fight. Tito’s opponent Lyoto Machida comes into the match with a flawless record of 12-0. It is very hard to find a weakness for Machida. He is a complete fighter and seems to get better with every fight. He has defeated some big games like, Rich Franklin, BJ Penn, Stephan Bonnar, and Rameau Sokudjou. Machida is good on both his feet and on the ground. This should be an excellent fight and both fighters will come out swinging. Make sure you don’t miss any of the action. On Saturday May 24, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena is Las Vegas, UFC 84 will take place. One of the features match ups will be Wanderlei Silva vs Keith Jardine. This is going to be an explosive stand up battle between two top UFC fighters. Each fighter has their own unique technique and style. This should make for a very entertaining fight. Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva comes into the fight with a record of 31-8-1. He is definetly the fan favorite. Everyone seems to like him and appreciate his heart and determination. Silva needs this win badly as he in on a 3 match losing streak. He lost to Chuck Liddell, Dan Henderson and Cro Cop. Silva's resume seems to be more impresive then Jardine’s, as he looks to be the more polished fighter. Silva is a straight forward striker and will stand up and fight. He is an experianced Muay Tai fighter, so he holds the advantage in this category. He has much more experience and he has overwhelming power and skill. Currently Oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com have Silva as a -180 favorite. Keith “The Dean of Mean” Jardine holds a record of 13-3-1. He should not be overlooked coming into this fight. He has an advantage in physical size and striking technique. He throws punches from all angles which makes it hard to know where the next punch is coming from. This was effective again Chuck Liddell when he beat him. Jardine is more of a counter puncher, but is an aggressive fighter. I think this fight is going to be a stand up contest. I like Silva to knockout Jardine in one of the early rounds. |

On Saturday May 24, UFC 84 will take place on center stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. There is going to be an excellent selection of UFC fights to watch and bet on. Two of the main UFC fight picks to keep your eye on are: BJ Penn vs Sean Sherk and Wanderlei Silva vs Keith Jardine.
The UFC 84 Lightweight championship title will be up for grabs in the main event between BJ Penn and Sean Sherk. Penn is perhaps one of the most talented fighters in the UFC. He has just recently begun to fulfill his expectations and potential as a UFC contender. He only needed 2 rounds and defeated Jens Pulver in his last UFC fight. Also back in January he beat Joe Stevenson in convincing fashion. Penn is poised for a long title run as a lightweight UFC champion. This will be his first defense of the UFC fight title. Sherk will be very hungry to get his title back after losing it to Penn. He is a very powerful MMA fighter and is one of the best pound for pound fighters in the UFC. He is known for his ground and pound style, and will hope to apply this in the UFC 84 matchup. This is going to be an excellent UFC matchup for any MMA fight pick fan. Currently UFC 84 Oddsmakers at Sportbetting.com have BJ Pen as a -240 favorite. The legendary Wanderlei Silva will take on Keith Jardine in the UFC 84. Silva has made a name for himself in Japan with his many years of dominance. He is finally fighting in the U.S and has become a UFC fan favorite. He always puts his fans first and looks to continue to put on good fights. On the other hand Keith Jardine is an absolute animal. He has a very impressive resume and has defeated tough opponents, Chuck Liddell and Forest Griffen. He wants to come into this UFC 84 fight and prove that he deserves a shot at Quinton “Rampage” Jackson for the UFC championship belt. Currently, Silva is a favorite at -180 odds at Sportsbetting.com View UFC 84 Betting Odds at OnlineSportsHandicapping.com before you bet on UFC 84 at Sportsbetting.com |
