After you celebrate the 4th let UFC 86 finish off your weekend with a huge explosion MMA betting matchups.  It will be held in a familiar location at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas Nevada.  This main fight card is going to feature Quinton “Rampage” Jackson against Forrest Griffin, but there is another UFC 86 match up that not too many people are talking about.  Patrick Cote is going to take on Ricardo Almeida in the semi main event.  This UFC 86 matchup will be a good lead up to the UFC 86 main event as both fighters are capable of winning and will be hungry for the win.

Ricardo Almeida walked away from the UFC for 4 years.  It would have been very interesting to see where his career could have gone if he did not leave the sport.  He is finally back in the octagon and will be looking for his second victory of 2008.  Almeida holds a record of 9-2 and has all the technical skills required to win the fight.  Cote’s weakness has been poor defensive grappling as Almeida will look to take full advantage of this.  Look for Almeida to get off to a quick start as I like him to win the match.  Currently Oddsmakers at BodogLife.com have Ricardo Almeida as a -149 favorite heading into Saturday’s fight action.

Patrick Cote will come into this fight holding a MMA record of 12-4.  He possesses some heavy hands and good punching power, but not too much else.  Cote’s power will keep him in the fight for a while, but when Almeida takes him to the ground it could be a quick finish.  Although Cote has managed to win his last 4 fights very quickly he seems to be outmatched by the more experienced Almeida.  I don’t expect this fight to go the distance as I see Almeida ending it quickly.
