LeBron James still didn't find his touch in a NBA Playoffs game 2 loss to the Celtics, 89-73. James is now 8-for-42 in this NBA Playoffs series. The Cavaliers led 21-11 in the first quarter, and they still led by seven in the second before Boston exploded and took over the lead for good in a laugher. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen had good games after combining for 4 points in Game 1. Pierce ended up with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists, and Allen had 16 points, 1 rebound and 3 assists for the game. The oddsmakers at sportsbetting.com currently have the Cleveland -1.5 favorites to Boston heading into this NBA Playoff betting matchup. So Boston now leads the series 2-0 going to Cleveland Saturday night. The Cavs simply don't have enough talent to win the series. I wonder if James first 2 games would rank as the all-time worst playoff performance in history. Considering all the shots he has missed and the turnovers, it has to be close. To get back in this series LeBron needs to have a near perfect game. Cavs need to jump on the C's just like in Game 2 early and hold the lead throughout. The Cavs don't think this series is done at all and they shouldn't, remember the last two years these Cavs were down 2-0 in series and came back and won. The Cavs proved in Game 1 that if they play the type of defense that they are capable of they, can beat Boston. In order to do that though Lebron needs to get his head out of his butt and start playing like he has throughout his career. In the past two games, LeBron should have been playing in the WNBA, wait; he would get fouled even harder in that league. I'm sick of people saying LeBron needs more help; they got help for him this year by picking up Wally Szczerbiak, Ben Wallace and Joe Smith. All of his teammates don't make his open jump shots clang off the rim. What I have noticed with the Cavs these playoffs is when Cleveland's Daniel Gibson has a bad game they usually lose and when he has a decent game they win. Cavs fan's say this isn't over and the Celtics were up 2-0 against Atlanta and that series went to a 7th game. Do the fans want to keep mentioning the Hawks taken C's to 7, what if your team loses in 4 or 5? Maybe it's in your best interest to keep focused on this series and leave the past in the past. Someone may want to tell LeBron the time to dominate has just about passed him by. If he doesn't step up Saturday night his season is done. Cleveland could win. They could even win 4 straight. But if they don't, the Celtics will win the series. Bottom line, you do NOT want to come to the jungle for a Game 7. Just ask Atlanta. Orlando is back in the NBA Playoffs betting series after getting the big win in Game 3 on Wednesday night, 111-86. The Magic got off to a great NBA Playoff start, leading Detroit 20-3 and 24-6 before settling for a 30-16 lead after the 1st quarter. Rashard Lewis was absolutely huge in the game, he had a NBA playoff high 33 points. Detroit leads the series 2-1 going into Saturday's Game 4 in Orlando. Detroit likes to slow the pace of the game and take the crowd out of it early, but look for the Magic to go on some big scoring runs and get the crowd involved. The oddsmakers at SportsBook.com currently have the Orlando -5 favorites to Detroit heading into this NBA Playoff betting matchup. Detroit All-Star Chauncey Billups was injured in this game and had to leave. Billups said he would get up some shots Friday, but he wouldn't fully test the leg until Saturday morning. So, it's still a 50-50 proposition whether he'll play Saturday night. Billups should take the night off to rest this injury so he doesn't make it worse. If he plays that would be to Orlando’s advantage, having an injured player testing out a hammy in a huge NBA playoff game can’t be good for Detroit. It will be tough for him if he plays, he should rest this injury and get himself ready for Game 5. Orlando needs this win tonight to tie the series at 2-2 before it returns to Detroit, where the Pistons have one of the league's best home records. If they lose tonight this series may end in Detroit on Tuesday night in Game 5. Look for Orlando's top center, Howard, to have a great game as this is his first after being named All-NBA first team. The Magic might have a shot at winning this series without Billups. The Magic almost won Game 2 with Billups, and they dominated the first quarter in Game 3 before Billups went down. Orlando has been learning through the NBA playoffs, and as this series goes longer they might be able to pull it off. But to do so they must tie the series and win on their home court Saturday afternoon. NBA Angle plays for this NBA Playoff Matchup: When ORLANDO team played as a -3.5 to -6.0 Home Favorite - Last 5 years - After a non division game - Coming off 1 ATS win 8-2 O/U in this spot. When ANY NBA Team Played as Home team as a Favorite - with 2 day off - Allowed 90 or less points AGAINST in their last game - Coming off a Home win as a Favorite - Coming off a 20 or more point win ORLANDO 72-18 SU in this spot. The Cleveland Cavaliers find themselves in a familiar situation in their NBA playoffs series against the Boston Celtics as they are down two games to none after being blown away in Boston. Last year the Cavaliers lost the first two NBA playoffs games in Detroit but then won the next four. "Being down 0-2, that's a tough hole to dig yourself out of.” Cleveland’s LeBron James said, “But if we want to win the series we've got to do it." James has been nothing short of miserable in the series so far against Boston. LeBron is now 8 for 42 in the series and if that lack of success continues this series will quickly be over. Boston broke out of their shooting woes in Game 2 as Paul Pierce had 19 points, Ray Allen 16 points while Kevin Garnett added 13 point and 12 rebounds. James finished Game 2 with 21 points on 6 for 24 shooting. "I'm a little shocked that he's 8-for-42, but this is what we work on. We work on trying to contain him," said Pierce, "LeBron is what makes them go. And if we can somehow control him, we control their team. And with the help of the guys around me, we've been able to do that." James is not getting much help. The Cavaliers as a team shot 35.6 percent in the game. Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 19 points for the Cavaliers. SBG Global reports that early NBA betting has the public taking Cavaliers at Home. NBA Playoffs Betting Preview Boston Celtics at Cleveland Cavaliers (Celtics lead 2-0) Saturday, 8:05 pm Eastern – ABC SBG Global Opening Line: Cavaliers - 1 , Total 176
The Cavaliers must find a way to get James going in Game 3. "They are doing what every team is doing to him," Cavaliers Coach Mike Brown said. "Forcing his pick and rolls to baseline, double teaming him in the post. There are only so many types of defenses you can do, and he has faced them before." James has missed very easy shots in this series and is simply not playing well. "I'm frustrated with that, I know how to protect the ball," James said. "I'm just missing the shots that I normally make. The layups that usually go down for me are just jumping out of the rim. The jumpers that I usually make are not going down for me." The Cavaliers will try and get back in the series on Saturday in a must win Game three. “Boston should be confident about it, they have great stars, but it is what the series is about. It is not over until someone wins four games.” Brown said, “Half our team has been in this situation before, we know that game three is a separate entity and we will get energized from our crown and try to get a win.” James is also ready to get back home and use the crowd as motivation to turn the series around. “Home court has always been good for us. So we’re going to use the crowd and we just have to continue to try to keep our heads up on offense and try to make the extra pass and get some teammates open, get some guys some good looks.” SBG Global Current Line: Cavaliers - 1 , Total 176 Here are the NBA betting stats for Saturday’s game. The defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs are back in their series against the New Orleans Hornets after winning Game 3 and will now try and even things up in Game 4 on Sunday. Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili scored 31 points each and Tim Duncan had 16 points and 13 rebounds in the Spurs 110-99 win on Thursday. "We know that going 3-0 - it's never been done to come back like that,'' said Ginobili, "Today, for us, it was a Game 7. We knew if we didn't win today, it was almost over. So we had a different approach. We played with more passion, more edge.'' The Spurs will now try and take the next step and even the series. SBG Global reports that early NBA betting has the public taking Spurs at Home. NBA Playoff Betting Preview New Orleans Hornets at San Antonio Spurs (Hornets lead 2-1) Sunday, 8:05 pm Eastern – TNT SBG Global Opening Line: Spurs - 5.5, Total 186 Chris Paul had 35 point and nine assists while David West had 23 points and 12 rebounds in Game 3 for the Hornets. New Orleans had their chance in the fourth quarter but missed wide open shots and the Spurs pulled away. "You got to give them a lot of credit,'' Hornets coach Byron Scott said, "I thought they played a lot more aggressive tonight. A lot more physical. Basically kind of took us right out of our game. I thought we lost our composure tonight a little bit as well.'' The Spurs didn’t contain Paul but they did hold Stojakovic to only eight points. "Chris is going to score regardless. He's got the ball in his hands every single time. Every single play it's Chris Paul,'' said Parker, "He's going to score. So we decided to put Bruce (Bowen) on Peja and at least hold somebody down because Peja was killing us.''
SBG Global Current Line: Spurs - 5.5, Total 186 Here are the NBA betting stats for Sunday’s game. The Hornets are 43-21-1 ATS in their last 65 games overall. On Wednesday night Los Angeles took NBA Playoffs game two 120-110 over Utah to go up 2-0 in the series. Kobe Bryant received his NBA MVP award before the game and ended up with had 34 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. The series shifts to Utah for NBA Playoffs Games 3 and 4 on Friday night and Sunday. Kobe did most of the damage from the free throw line, scoring 21 of his 38 points. The oddsmakers at SportsBetting.com currently have the Utah Jazz -4 favorites to L.A Lakers heading into this NBA Playoff betting matchup.
Hopefully the refereeing is a little better when the series goes back to Utah on Friday night. I'm not saying that is why Utah lost the other night, but if Utah so much as breaths on precious Kobe, they get a foul. LA shot 43 free throws in NBA Playoffs game two and Jazz shot just 16, disparity is pretty obvious. The NBA refs in this series have been calling a ton of ticky-tack fouls. It's the NBA Playoffs, let them play! The Utah Jazz, with one of the best home records in the NBA this year, are no locks to win all their available NBA home games. The Jazz need to treat Game 3 like its a Game 7. Utah has been getting down by double digits at the end of the first quarter in the previous two NBA Playoff games. They need to come out strong and take control early in Game 3 or they have no shot at winning the NBA Playoffs. If they lose this game tonight they will be down 0-3 and the series is basically over. The JazzJazz have the confidence to beat the Lakers, so it will be amazing if they came back and win this NBA Playoff betting series. can't win in LA, they won't be winning 4 straight, they simply aren't good enough. I don't think the NBA Angle plays for this NBA Playoff Betting Matchup: When UTAH team Played as Home team as a Favorite - After a non division game - Coming off 2 game road stand 31-6 SU in this spot. When UTAH team Played as Home team as a Favorite - Last 5 years - Coming off 2 ATS lost 19-5 ATS in this spot. |
