 The Los Angeles Lakers face their first back-to-back situation of the season as they play the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. The Lakers opened up the season last night at home against Portland. It is not that tough a situation though since the Lakers don’t have to travel. Last season the Lakers swept their season series with the Clippers 4-0 for the first time since the 2002-03 season. The two teams have met 177 times overall and 111 times since the Clippers moved to Los Angeles. The Lakers are 7-3 in their last 10 games against the Clippers. The Lakers are 6-4 in their last 10 games, as a visitor at the Staples Center. Under head coach Phil Jackson, the Lakers are 25-7 versus the Clippers. In 46 career games versus the Clippers, Kobe Bryant is averaging 25.1 points per game.

The Miami Heat had a terrible season last year and look to rebound this year behind Dwayne Wade and Udonis Haslem. Haslem is a little banged up with a foot injury but is listed as probable for the game. Wade was not healthy at all last season, but he still averaged 24.6 points per game. The Heat will look for him to lead this team as usual but hope that hotshot rookie Michael Beasley can contribute immediately.
The New York Knicks were awful last year as well. The whole Isaiah Thomas debaccle didn't help things either. The Knicks bring in new Head Coach Mark D'Antonio, who will bring his run-and-gun style offense to the Eastern Conference. Point Guard Stephon Marbury and Jamal Crawford will try to lead this team to a better showing this year.
