2007 NBA Playoff Preview - Golden State Warriors at Utah Jazz (Jazz lead 3-1)
The Utah Jazz will try and close out the Golden State Warriors tonight and advance to the Western Conference Finals. Utah got a 115-101 win on Sunday against Golden State in a game that got physical at the end. With Utah showing that they want to win, the gambling public at SBG Global is taking the Jazz laying the points.

There was a flagrant foul and a collision between players that may make things even more interesting tonight. The Jazz say they just want to close out the series and not worry about revenge. "The fans here in Salt Lake City, the fans in Oakland have seen great games, great competition," said Utah guard Derek Fisher "There's no sense messing that up by doing things that are out of character."

The Jazz are 5-0 in the playoffs at home so the Warriors have their work cut out if they are to extend this series. The Jazz haven't been to the Western Conference finals since 1998. Head coach Jerry Sloan only wants his team to focus on getting a win tonight. "We just have to worry about playing tomorrow and putting the last game behind us and just concentrate on basketball, not the things that have happened," Sloan said. "You don't want to back away from anybody, just keep playing. And I was proud of our players for doing that last night."

Utah is a 4.5 point favorite with a total of 216.5 at SBG Global.

Baron Davis and Derek Fisher were the two players that collided and neither has any bad feelings. "Me and Derek Fisher, we're great friends," Davis said. "He's a great mentor to me, and in the moment of the game, the heat of the game, there's going to be some contact, some unnecessary contact."

The Jazz know they need to close out the Warriors tonight. "You can't feel as though you're playing with free money or you have 2-3 chances to win one game. You really have to take the mindset that we have one game to win and let's win that game right now," Fisher said.

2007 NBA Playoff Preview - Chicago Bulls at Detroit Pistons (Pistons lead 3-1) PDF Print E-mail

2007 NBA Playoff Preview - Chicago Bulls at Detroit Pistons (Pistons lead 3-1)
The Chicago Bulls won game #4 against the Detroit Pistons to avoid getting swept but most experts don't think they can extend the series any farther and the Pistons sure don't want it going past tonight. "No doubt, that's our intention - to try to close the series out," Chauncey Billups said. SBG Global reports that early betting has the public all over the Pistons laying the points.

Chicago beat the Pistons 102-87 and played well for the first time in the series. "We should have a nothing-to-lose attitude," Bulls forward P.J. Brown said. "The pressure's on them."

"They didn't get the job done," he said. "We're still alive. We kept our season going. We've just got to go up there and play carefree basketball."

The Pistons are a 7 point favorite with a total of 183 at SBG Global.

The problem for Chicago is that they are bucking history and they are also just not as good as Detroit. No NBA team has ever won a best-of-seven series after trailing 3-0. Only the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs and 1975 New York Islanders in hockey and the 2004 Boston Red Sox in baseball have ever done it.

"I think it's going to happen one day," Brown said. "It could be us. Somebody will be able to get over the hump one day."

2007 NBA Playoff Preview - Cleveland Cavaliers at New Jersey Nets (Cavaliers lead 2-1) PDF Print E-mail

2007 NBA Playoff Preview - Cleveland Cavaliers at New Jersey Nets (Cavaliers lead 2-1)
The New Jersey Nets were able to contain LeBron James in Game #3 of their semifinal series on Saturday and got back into their best of seven series against the Cavaliers by winning 96-85. The Nets will try and do the same thing tonight and even the series. Sources at SBG Global report that the public is not sure about the decision but is definitely taking the Over of 184.

Jason Kidd had another triple-double to lead the Nets on Saturday but a bigger factor in New Jersey's win was the Nets ability to stop LeBron. "There were times where I could have attacked a little bit more," James said, "That's why I watch a lot of film."

James had 18 points and 12 assists but that is not going to get it done against New Jersey. "It's all about making him feel uncomfortable," Nets forward Bostjan Nachbar said. "We're trying to make him create more and limit his ability to get to the rim." James averaged 28.5 points per game in the first two games and Cavaliers head coach Mike Brown doesn't believe one game is enough of a test to say that the Nets have found a way to stop James. "I think he's like the third-leading scorer in the playoffs, or something like that ... for me, it's not the end of the world," Brown said. "I want him to attack if it's there. If he can score any time he has the ball, he's got the green light to do it. But if he feels that his teammate is open and he makes that pass, then I got to live with that, too."

New Jersey is a 3.5 point favorite with a total of 184.5 at SBG Global.

James only took 16 shots and the Cavaliers will try and get him more opportunities tonight. "I think he needs to mix it up," Brown said. "I do think he needs to sit down deep sometimes, which may not allow them to come double him as quickly or as effectively. He might be able to go quick and score. I want him to step out on the floor, too, so they don't see the same thing every time."

"We're looking to take a 3-1 lead and go back home," James said. "We're still up two games to one, they're chasing us. We're just going to go out there and play well and be ready to play."

2007 NBA Playoff Preview - Phoenix Suns at San Antonio Spurs (Spurs lead 2-1) PDF Print E-mail

2007 NBA Playoff Preview - Phoenix Suns at San Antonio Spurs (Spurs lead 2-1)
The pivotal game of the Western Conference semifinals takes place tonight in San Antonio as the Spurs host the Phoenix Suns. With a victory San Antonio would take a commanding 3-1 series lead. If the Suns can get a win, they even the series and regain the home court advantage. SBG Global reports that in early wagering, the public is going with the Suns plus the points.

The Spurs won 108-101 on Saturday but the Suns believe it is more because they missed shots rather than anything the Spurs did. "I'd like to give them all the credit in the world, I think they're a terrific team," Nash said. "But I know those are shots we make and are capable of making."

"I shot the ball poorly, I thought we, as a team, missed a bunch of layups, fumbled balls and just didn't convert and finish. And I think we missed a lot of free throws," Nash said. "In one respect that's not very pleasing and in another respect it shows that we're capable."

San Antonio is a 3.5 point favorite with a total of 202 at SBG Global.

The Suns did not play well at times on Saturday. Nash missed his first nine shots and Amare Stoudemire only played 21 minutes because of foul trouble. The Suns were also only 18-27 from the foul line.

"We have enough good shots at the basket. We're shooting at a very high percentage for the series, we're scoring enough points," Head coach Mike D'Antoni said. "We're in the framework of what we want to do. ... We're just going to have to make better plays at bigger moments."

2007 NBA Playoff Preview - Phoenix Suns at San Antonio Spurs (Series tied 1-1)
The San Antonio Spurs may not have needed any extra motivation after losing Game #2 by 20 points to the Phoenix Suns but they have some for game #3 on Saturday after Phoenix All-Star Amare Stoudemire called the Spurs a "dirty team." In a game that should provide some fireworks, the gambling public at SBG Global is taking the Spurs laying the points.

Stoudemire says Bruce Bowen tried to hurt him. "He kicked me purposely in the back of my Achilles'. I almost came down wrong and he almost caused an injury," Stoudemire said. "He's known for doing that. I just hope the NBA and the commissioner take a look at that because it's definitely a dirty play."

"I think the Spurs are a dirty team," he added. "I mean, Ginobili during the regular season kneed me in the crotch on purpose. I just hope the league takes a look at it and cleans the game up a little bit."

The Spurs are a 4.5 point favorite with a total of 201 at SBG Global.

Suns coach Mike D'Antoni would not get involved in the discussion. "The league's going to look at it and they're going to examine past tendencies and stuff," he said. "I have no idea what Bruce Bowen does. I don't really care. I don't want to get into it because it's so minimal that it's no big deal. It really isn't."

The Spurs will be motivated already by a poor performance in game #2 where they lost by twenty points. "Whether you win by one or lose by 20," Tim Duncan said, "it's 1-1." Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said the overall effort from the Spurs was just not enough. "We have to have five guys who are competing and doing the same things," Popovich said. "It seemed like we had three or four at times, but never five."
