The Los Angeles Lakers will try and even the NBA Finals at a game each on Sunday as they play in Boston.  The Lakers lost the opener 98-88 as Paul Pierce came back from an injury to score 22 points for the Celtics while Kevin Garnett had 24 points and Ray Allen added 19.  The Lakers were led by Kobe Bryant who had 24 points. The Lakers actually led by five points at the half but started slowly in the second half of Game One. “We had some control of the first half, played the kind of game we wanted to play, and in the second half we came out and immediately wiped out the lead we had established in about 20 seconds, a matter of two possessions,” Lakers head coach Phil Jackson said.   The Celtics just seemed to want the game more in the second half.  That may have been indicated by the rebounding edge they had in the game.  The Celtics outrebounded the Lakers 46-33. “When we rebound that balances out our defense,” the Lakers Lamar Odom said. Kevin Garnett led the Celtics with 13 rebounds while P.J. Brown added six. "I just tried to crash, that's one of the biggest strengths of our team, rebounding," Brown said. "That's what this team is built on and we've been successful with that throughout the playoffs.”
