This year in the NBA Chris Paul has become an emerging player. He has truly become a superstar and is amazing people with his play. For a small man of his size, 6-0 and only 175 pounds, he makes driving to the basket look easy. He was selected as the fourth overall pick in the 05-06 NBA draft and is proving his worth this season. This season he led his team to their best record in franchise history with a record of 56 wins and 26 losses.
Paul is almost ungaurdable at the point guard position. He is able to score at will, is very unselfish and involves his team mates constantly. He is able to control the pace and tempo of the game and is by far one of the best, if not the best point guard in the game today. He has a chance to lead his Hornets to a championship. Paul has put up amazing numbers during the regular season and continues to produce in the playoffs. He averaged 21.1 points, 2.7 steals and he led his team in assists with 11.6 per game during the regular season. His numbers have only got better during the playoffs. During this years playoffs, he is averaging 24.3 points and 12.1 assists. Paul is putting up better number in the playoffs then the regular season which is amazing. He deffinatley deserves to win the title of MVP. Currently Oddmakers at SportsBetting.com have Chris Paul at 6:1odds to win the MVP finals award. We can also look at how Paul is leading his team to victory again the defending champion Spurs. They are currently up 2 games to 0 on San Antonio. This is the first time since 2001 that the Spurs have been down 2-0 during the playoffs. You can credit most of this success to Paul, who is leading his Hornets to each win. During this series against the Spurs he is averaging 23.5 points, 2.5 steals and 12.5 assists, while shooting 50% from the field. This numbers are amazing, and next time the word MVP is mentioned don’t forget the name Chris Paul.
