NBA MVP Candidates Betting Preview and Odds (06-03-08)This year the NBA Playoffs have been very exciting and entertaining to watch this season, OnlineSportsHandicapping.com would like to thank its readers for staying tuned threw to the NBA Final matchup against the Celtics and Lakers. Now that the NBA betting season is coming to a close the burning question is - Who will be the NBA MVP for 2008? Both the number 1 seeded teams in each conference advanced to the NBA Finals.  The NBA Championship will begin on Thursday June 5th between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics.  This should be a great NBA match up and series, but many people are asking themselves who will be the 2008 NBA MVP of the playoffs?

The most obvious NBA MVP response here would be Kobe Bryant.  He has had a magical season and only looks for it to continue.  He already took home the MVP of the league award and now looks to win his second MVP Award of the season.  During the regular season Kobe Bryant managed to lead his team to a first place finish in the tough NBA Western Conference.  He led his team 28.3 points per game and also averaged 5.4 assists, 1.8 steals and 6.3 rebounds a game.  In the NBA playoffs he has stepped up his game even more.  In 15 playoff games this season Kobe is averaging better than he did during the regular season.  He is getting 31.9 points, 5.8 assists, 1.3 steals and 6.1 rebounds a game while managing to shoot 51 percent from the field.  It’s not hard to see why he is the favorite to win the playoff MVP award with these kinds of numbers.  Currently Oddsmakers at Sportbetting.com have Kobe Bryant as a 1/2 favorite to win the playoff MVP Award.

Another NBA MVP contending player that comes to mind is Kevin Garnet of the Boston Celtics.  Ever since coming to Boston this season he has improved the team drastically and got them all the way to the NBA finals.  He is leading his team in scoring in the playoffs with 21.1 points per game.  He is also averaging 9.8 boards, 3.5 assists and 1.15 blocks a game.  If the Celtics are able to defeat the Lakers I expect him to take home the hardware without a doubt.  He is currently listed at 5/2 odds to win the playoff MVP award at Sportbetting.com.
