NBA Trades and New Power Rankings for NBA Playoff Picks. (02-25-2008)
Gentlemen and Ladies, below I will take you through both conferences and give you a sneak peek to the trades and my new NBA Power Rankings for your NBA Playoff Picks . Over the last month and a half, the league has shifted and you will hear my thoughts on the positive and negative deals. My ranking and opinion is based on the teams chances of making the NBA Finals only.

WESTERN CONFERENCE
1). Los Angeles Lakers
2). San Antonio Spurs
3). Dallas Mavericks
4). Phoenix Suns
5). Utah Jazz
6). New Orleans Hornets
7). Houston Rockets
8). Denver Nuggets

The Lakers
- They may have pulled off the trade of the century when they stole Gasol from the Grizzlies. With Bynum resting and getting healthier every day, they will have the inside game they have needed since giving Shaq up. My favorite pickup was before the season when signing Fisher. This gave them control and another veteran with a dangerous outside shot from beyond the arc. The profits against the spread can be great, as the odds makers still have no clue of the line to set with this squad.

The Spurs - We know Duncan wins the title every-other-year as of late, but I wasn't thrilled with their moves this season. Grabbing Stoudamire to replace an injured Parker was a nice scoop up to help them hold their position. I do believe this is the worst Spurs team we have seen in the last 3 years, but are still solid as one unit. Their getting a lot older and you'll need to watch the lines more closely when laying the points to make sure they will cover for you.

The Mavs
- Dallas has picked up the best point guard of the past century with Kidd. I can't wait to see him running the break with Howard, but still believe they should have grabbed O'Neil from the Pacers instead. They need a big and it will show as they approach the Finals.

The Suns
- In my opinion, the Shaq deal just cost them a chance to win a title with Nash. It may, go down as one of the worst trades in NBA history when all said and done. They are older and a lot slower. I don't believe they will be able to gel as one unit and even sniff the Finals this year. The Heat might be scary with Wade, Matrix and a top draft pick.

The Jazz - The Kolver deal was a major pick up for them. It gave the worst team from behind the arc a three point threat. They are solid with Boozer and Williams and have great role players. However, I still believe they are a year or two away yet from their run.

The Hornets - Chris Paul is a stud... They will be in the running for a the title for the next ten years. I think this year will be experience building only, they are still too young and need another player on the wing. It is definitely a great time to jump on their bandwagon if your not a fan already.

The Rockets - All we hear is they never made it out of the first round. It will be tough for them again this season. They need a point, period. Bobby Jackson was a nice pickup for what they gave, but Bobby Jackson four years ago was a different player. T-Mac health always worry's me ad their seed will be crustal. They could beat three out of the five ahead of them if the brackets fall right. A solid prop beat will play nicely, but I'll pass this year.

The Nuggets
- Talent wise, they are as solid as you can get. However, their not the Pistons or the Spurs. Their late game one-on-one play drives me nuts. They're the most dangerous against the spread for wagering, we never know what team will show up. They have all the weapons to win the title this year, but won't...

EASTERN CONFERENCE

1). Detroit Pistons
2). Boston Celtics
3). Cleveland Cavaliers
4). Orlando Magic
5). Washington Wizards
6). Toronto Raptors
7). Milwaukee Bucks
8). Indiana Pacers

The Pistons - Wallace is a pimp that on any given night, can be the best player in the league. I have seen Detroit, even while aging, play better this year than in the past. It's scary to me that they continue to get better as one unit. I like Rip's new found three point shot. In my opinion, Detroit would have been ranked number one even in the West. Watch out as their way to the Finals will be easier and have shorter series than most others. I just hope Flip Sanders learned to double team the player that is going off...

The Celtics
- The big three had them in this spot before the season started. I am really impressed with Rondo's point play and Big Baby has turned out to be a great draft pick. I don't see them beating the Pistons in a seven game series, but home court will help. Billups will win this series if they both get there... However, taking the points if they meet is not a bad idea.

The Cavs - The experts are knocking this deal, but I love it. Big Ben now puts some muscle on Garrnett and Rasheed. Wally's shot is a nice compliment to James, and will win playoff games for them. They are better now than they were last year, and we seen where they went...

The Magic - Dwight Howard is my Franchise selection. They need a solid point guard and a shooting guard first. I can see them being all over the title for the next ten years, but are still a little short just yet. Believe me, the top three don't want to draw them on their half...

The rest of the East isn't worth talking about for now. It's a four team race as far as I can see it. Those are just my quick thoughts, but when wagering, all the lines need to be considered. Join me now until the playoffs for the profits your looking for .
