 New England Patriots now 0-3 in the preseason entering tonight's game. They lost 16-15 in the opener against Baltimore, then came back to lose 27-10 to Tampa Bay and last week lost to Philadelphia 27-17. Tom Brady has yet to play a series in the preseason. Reports on Monday said that Brady says he'll be ready for the New England Patriots opener even if a foot injury keeps him from taking a single snap in exhibition games. Brady is fine, always has been. This bogus foot thing, just like last years bogus leg injury, is just the team screwing with the leagues head (see last preseason with Randy Moss). Moss didn't play all pre-season with some sort of injury, he comes out in the regular season burning teams. "I'm hoping I'm always out there," Brady said Monday on his regular weekly appearance on WEEI radio, "and if I don't play, I'll be ready for Kansas City." Wide receiver Wes Welker missed Monday's practice after injuring his ribs early in Friday night's 27-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. His 112 catches last season tied T.J. Houshmandzadeh of Cincinnati for the NFL lead. The problem is Brady isn't going to help genius Belichik's heralded swiss cheese defense. The Oddsmakers at Bodoglife.com currently have NY Giants -2 favorites to New England with the total at 36.
NY Giants are 1-2 in the year's preseason. They lost there opener to Detroit 13-10, then came back to win the following week home against Cleveland 37-24 and then last week lost to NY Jets 10-7. Michael Strahan has talked to the NY Giants this week on a possible return in the wake of Osi Umenyiora's season-ending knee injury. Jets quarterback Brett Favre, recently unretired himself, said the Giants should do whatever possible to get Strahan back. People say this is the same situation as Favre this season. This is not even close to another Favre situation. Strahan retired. He is not begging the team to take him back. He didn't flip flop all off season. What I see here is a Giant who went out on top who says he might come back to help his former teammates who are now dealing with a massive loss at his old position. How is that close to the Favre scenerio? Prediction- The Patriots yet to play a good game in my eyes this preseason, and on the other side even though the Giants are 1-2 they were in all those games, and in the two losses they had combined 6 points. If you are playing the game tonight I would look to take the NY Giants in this one. Last week I said to bet against the Patriots and that was the right side and I'm doing it again this week. If betting the total in this one might want to go over the total. The Patriots have gone over the total 2 out of the 3 games this preseason and the Giants are 1-2 O/U in this preseason and their only game that went over the total was the home game and they play at home tonight.
