As we review the Tennessee Titans AFC South Betting Odds for 2008 we already know they made the playoff last year with Vince Young who did not have as good a season as he did in 2006. Tennessee is poised for the next step in 2008 Super Bowl 42.
This season marks the 10th anniversary of the Tennessee Titans, who will wear a commemorative patch on their jerseys in 2008. On this anniversary the Titans hope to go where it did during the first season - the Super Bowl. The Titans went 10-6 last year and made the playoffs even though they only threw nine touchdown passes. A year later they have upgraded offensive weapons and quarterback Vince Young should have some more passing touchdowns. The AFC South Betting Odds at Bodoglife.com currently have the Tennessee Titans 35/1 to win the 2009 Superbowl. Quarterback Vince Young went to the Pro Bowl in his first season, and was named Offensive Rookie Of The Year. Lasts\ season he was in a bit of a slump, and had some injuries but Tennessee still made the playoffs. He was frustrated through out the season and only managed to throw 9 touchdown passes. He had a quad injury last season and missed one game. The Titans invested a lot of money in Young, and he isn't in jeopardy of losing his job. Coach Jeff Fisher has been bring up Vince Young slowly just like what he did with Steve McNair, and they made Superbowl XXXIV. Vince Young will win a Super Bowl one day, and it will most likely be with Tennessee at the Colts' expense. Vince has a new offensive coordinator this season, this is a big help for his confidence. The AFC South Betting Odds at Bodoglife.com currently have the Tennessee Titans 20/1 to win the 2009 AFC Championship In March the Titans got a key addition to there defense, signing Jevon Kearse. The Titans had a hole at defensive end after losing free agents Antwan Odom and Travis LaBoy. Kearse was the Defensive Rookie of the Year after Tennessee made him the 16th overall pick in the 1999 draft. The Titans reached the Super Bowl that season. They paid him all the money in Philadelphia and he did nothing for them, now he returns where he started in Tennessee. Kearse had 47.5 sacks in 66 games with Tennessee. When he was in Philadelphia he only managed 22 sacks in 45 games. "I feel at home right here," Kearse said. "I really feel good physically," he said. "If they're doubling those guys, I have no choice but to do what I have to do and that's get to the quarterback. If that happens, then they have to figure out who are they going to double today and at that point, you have to pick your poison," Kearse said. "They came up with No. 90. They said it was an old number that was just sitting around. It's going to be 90. It's good. It feels good on me. It feels different than 93 I think," Kearse said. I think that he will have a solid year back with Tennessee. This is a tough division to win but they have all the pieces in place to compete. If they can score some points, the defense will have a larger margin for error, and Tennessee won't have to rely all the time on kicker Rob Bironas. They relied on him all last season, as they couldn't score touchdowns in red zone. Bironas was 35 of 39 in field goal attempts. Last year they lost Pacman Jones for the entire year, out with a suspension, but it didn't matter as they got strong play from there corners on defense, Nick Harper and Cortland Finnegan. If they continue to play strong they might have a shot at winning the division. Get the latest AFC South and NFL betting odds in real time from the internet’s best online sportsbooks.
