Saturday night the Montreal Canadians will head into Boston for game 6 of their NHL playoff betting series. During the regular season Montreal dominated Boston, winning all eight games. Currently the Canadians hold a 3 – 2 advantage in the series and look to eliminate the Bruins from the NHL playoffs and advance to the next round. Currently Oddsmakers at SportsBetting.com have the Bruins as a +110 underdog going into Saturdays contest.
On Thursday night during game 5, the Bruins put a savage beating on the Habs winning in Montreal, 5-1. The Canadians will be looking to bounce back and avenge this loss. Boston goaltender Tim Thomas played sensational last game, stopping 31 shots. Thomas isn’t known for being a very consistent goalie, having very streaky games. He will have to play well again, and shut down the powerful Montreal offense who finished second in the league with 257 goals and 441 assists in 82 games this year. The Bruins play defensive and patient hockey, and will have to capitalize on their scoring opportunities. Montreal heads into the game behind their leader Alex Kovalev. He has regained his amazing scoring touch this year and is having one of his best seasons in the NHL. He led the team in many categories, including; goals (35), assists (49) and points (84). Kovalev’s contribution is a key to the Canadians success. He will need to have a good game on Saturday for Montreal to win. The Habs will also have to continue their dominance on the powerplay if they look to close out the series. During the regular season they had a 24.2% success rate on the powerplay and it was ranked #1 in the league.
