Euro 2008 Betting: Germany vs Croatia Odds Preview and Picks (06-11-08)On Wednesday June 11th, Croatia is going to take on Germany for your Euro 2008 betting picks.  Both teams are very strong and each look to advance to the Euro 2008 quarter finals.  Germany won their first match against Poland by a score of 2-0.  Lukas Podolski led the way for the Germans, as he notched 2 goals.  Croatia also won their first round match against Austria.  They were awarded an early penalty kick and capitalized by scoring.  They held this 1-0 lead throughout the entire match and were victorious.  Both Germany and Croatia are favorites to advance from their group.

A win from either team would essentially secure a berth in the quarter finals.  This is going to be an excellent match to watch.  The last time Croatia defeated Germany was back in the 1998 FIFA World Cup.  They won the match by a score of 3-0 to advance to semi finals.  This win eventually led them to a third place finish and marked a great finish for them.  This year marks Croatia’s third appearance at the Euro 2008.  They will be hungry and eager coming into this match to beat a tough German squad.  Currently Oddsmakers at SportBetting.com have Croatia as +425 underdogs coming into Thursdays match.

Germany is the favorite this year to take home the hardware.  At the start of the Euro 2008, they were 5:1 favorites to win the entire thing, and show no signs to disprove these odds.  In the past, Germany has met against Croatia for 3 friendly matches.  They won all three meeting by scores of 5-1, 2-0 and 5-1.  They have also met twice since the World Cup in 1998.  They drew 1-1 in Zagreb in March and won 2-1 in February.  Germany won the European Cup last in 1996 and look to get back there again this year.  They are led by striker Miroslav Klose and captain Micheal Ballack.  They will need to have good games tomorrow.  I feel that Germany is the stronger team and will win the match.
